Has anyone been able to bind different functions to the controller buttons? I've been trying to reassign L3 to something else since I don't use first person view and haven't had any luck.
Using a PS3 controller with motioninjoy settings set to Xbox 360 mode.
In the keybind menu there's a window that says controller, you can set actions to different buttons in there.Just have to go to the settings menu and choose controller -> button setup to undo the first person PoV.
Found it and tried to change it to something else, but apparently you can only choose between Change Camera, Sit/Lock On and Draw Weapon/Lock On. Keybind settings window won't let me enter in any controller buttons either. Was hoping to be able to bind it to something different, oh well![]()
They need to give you the option of making the stance/lockon button just stance, when you have your xbars divided based on whether your weapon is drawn it's annoying to not be able to draw/sheath your weapon with a button press if you're targeting something (as it will just toggle lockon instead).
The gamepad's controls overall is kinda shitty. I love the toggle option but it's clunky to work with, and the mixed option is outright terrible. It's even worse when you have to start switching crossbars.
Didn't feel this was threadworthy but figured I'd share some macro functions I've found that have made managing multiple hotbars on pad far easier. You can use a command to swap the hotbar you have selected, so when I hit a skill on bar 2 it'll use the skill and auto swap back to bar 1. Been using these for stuff with longer CDs or Wrath skills on WAR. My Steel Cyclone for example is on bar 2 and set up like so:
First line replaces macro icon with the actual skill icon, so TP/MP cost and cooldown will display properly, second is the skill itself, third swaps me back to bar 1 where my normal combo rotations and stuff are. Only thing you need to be wary of is you can't mash stuff inappropriately.Code:/micon "Steel Cyclone" /ac "Steel Cyclone" <t> /chotbar change 1
That seems incredibly handy, I didn't know about the /micon command at all.
Was annoyed that they didn't have any generic, nonused icons to use for macros so you don't get them confused with other skills (there were plenty in 1.0, why they couldn't just port them in is beyond me).
Idiot question: I have the customized targeting thing checked; I have LB+Y, LB+B, LB+A, LB+X set up the way I want; I'm properly excited to make this whole thing smoother; I go into a room with a butt ton of people and NPCs to test it out; I hold LB+appropriate button and go left to right on the D pad. Nothing happens. I go up and down. Nothing happens. I hold LB+inappropriate buttons (in case I just forgot or did it wrong) and try scrolling both ways. Nothing.
How is this supposed to work? I mean...I know what LB is. I know what X is. Am I too dumb to live?
Yeah, I was going to replace a ton of my abilities with macros only to realize that'd prevent cooldowns from showing. I don't remember /micron ever showing up in documentation and I'd wager the vast majority of players don't know about it. Going to play with that tonight.
You don't hold the combination, it changes you to that mode until you change to something else. Current mode shows right by your HP.
(Edit: Now I'm tempted to have all my combos on the same button with advancing crossbars.)
(Edit 2: I'm back on the PS3 style main menu and i think I'll stick with it. I miss being able to occasionally click on something when my controller is off, but it's not like it's any real trouble or anything.)
Really wish they gave us back <stpc/npc/enemy/ally/pt>
Would make a lot of things much easier.
I was able to find the target filtering option, and set up different targeting modes like PARTY, ENEMIES, ALL, FRIENDS etc... I couldn't figure out how to set it up so that up & down targets ally and left & right to target enemies. Help please, thanks.
Up and down should always target party members regardless of your filters, as long as your other filters are set to only target enemies then left<->right will only target them.
Thank you good sir, and how the fuck do you target lock again on the controller? excuse my language but sometime i accidentally target lock on the controller without knowing how to turn it off, /frustrated.
It's pressing down on the left stick. So when you really wanna get out of the AoE, and you press too hard cause you want it to happen NOW? You end up target locking in on the guy and actually slowing down.
It sucks.
Ok I don't quite understand this. You can switch the targeting mode to toggle instead of hold? How does one do that? (and target via R1?)Yeah, that works especially well if you have it set to toggle so you don't have to hold it down.
I pretty much exclusively target via r1 now.
Also, since this has sort of become a general controller topic (not that that is a bad thing) how do I move hotbars OFF the hotbar cycling function? Like right everytime I tap R2 I switch between hotbars. That's fine and all, but I only want to switch between hotbars 1 and 2, not all of them. How do I do this?
