New player guide

Can anyone recommend a good guide for new players? I just jumped in last night and the game seems awesome, want to know more about class/subclass/job/companions/mounts etc. Lots of depth, where to start?

Thanks! That one's a good start, but I'm looking more for an outline of play 1-30. Or a wiki would be fine, actually - that way I can just look stuff up.

I don't want to miss whole aspects of the game in the first 30 levels (eg levequests).

The main story quest really holds you by the hand for that sort of thing, and takes you across the world. It's like one long integrated tutorial that unlocks new aspects of the game as you go.

Ah, I see! Perfect, thanks. This sounds much better than the FFXI-like in-at-the-deep-end approach I was expecting/dreading.

Honestly, that helps a ton. Very useful for new players.

Only bone to pick is re. Hamlet Defense - I always thought it was one of his better plays.

How can i tell if i'm on the main story ? Think i had a lvl 12 instance with a goobue recently...

The main story quests have flames around the exclamation point above peoples heads.

I've been playing more (and loving the game), and have also found a couple of sites that are pretty decent although there's nothing like a full wiki out there yet. They are:

Been meaning to ask - my Conjurer is heading towards 20 and I'd like to pick up Arcanist for eventual WHM, but the Arcanist guild is in another city. What's the best way to do it?
