Also, I'd be worried about getting hit by middle bombs because of timing and latency if you do that.
I'm not suggesting you should dodge in that direction I'm explaining that if you choose to do so (which you shouldn't if at all possible) you still have time to avoid everything.

Hey guys: when the last row is on titan, you stand on the middle bomb behind his back, then when landslide goes down slide the direction it's not (or if you end up bait go either way) then when the slide resolves/bomb 1 goes off run away. Let the fiires of rocks cleanse thy retards.

So marathoned Titan PUG to get my 3rd relic (Bow) and noticed a trend happening around from JP 4am. They would start the fight, goof off then quit on the 2nd round. The last one was the worst and I recorded them blowing it on purpose to say "otsukare"

I did get the win 2 fights later...

Somewhat curious... how do pets work when they're hit by landslide? I've noticed garudas seem to float in mid-air off platform for a second or two before floating back in, do titans work the same way? >___> And if so, is it possible to stop them mid air and bug out Titan <.<

Big Titan will not step foot off his platform that I've seen (or at least won't follow jumpers to their deaths in event of a wipe). You'd have to have someone bait landslide in tank direction to try.

I'm utterly sick of failing this fight. I can get to phase 5 in my sleep but somehow the groups I've been in can't keep it together. Could use some hints honestly. This fight just seems to go south at the drop of a hat. Hate being SCH right now.

Nearly cleared Titan tonight, shit went south at the 5% mark after a few attempts, courtesy to a couple dodging mishaps in the party, and one of the DPS dying in the last phase, wasting my swiftcase-rez in the process also. (it's not that hard to wait for plumes before accepting raise....)

For the sake of self-improvement in dodging on my SCH (outside of the rare lagslide I seem to get by), what can be done to help make the plumes easier to avoid on the last phase? The groups I've gone with like to hover DPS/Healers around the center for ease of AoE heals and buffs landing, but it leads to the plumes covering and stacking over a good chunk of the center of the arena.

What I've been doing so far is preemptively running towards the edge of the platform each time plumes are up next on the rotation, to try and compensate for the 300ms update rate on your position, and popping sprint where applicable.

All things aside, I really enjoy that fight's design. Very well tuned. Makes me curious how the coil fights following it stack up in comparison.

It really doesn't matter where you stand, because it's just easy to dodge. The problem is, most people don't remember the sequence thus kept getting hit by it. I would suggest you make a spam macro to tell them to move, right before plumes pop.

If your DPS are dying, and it's not due to lack of heals on tumult, they're not worth raising. Especially in the last phase.

Plumes are also easy to dodge. You should know when they're going to pop. Unless you're purposely stacking, don't stand behind anyone and press W.

I won this fight as WHM on my second ever attempt at it. I just wanted to say that TacoTaru's guide was pretty helpful in knowing what to expect. Also, this is probably obvious to a lot of people, but zooming the camera out helps to see bomb formations.

One other person in the group (a guy I static'd progression with) was also new and the other six people were veterans on secondary jobs.

Having done this fight a grand total of two times, IMO knowing the script is 90% of the battle. It was extremely helpful to have someone calling out the order of attacks over Teamspeak.

    Spoilering for blogmode.

    Spoiler: show
We managed to win despite a DPS getting knocked off of the edge pre-heart and me being stupid and forgetting that Gaol has a -determination debuff. Despite this, and the fight itself taking longer than usual, the run went pretty smoothly up until we hit the "5% it's almost dead we've dodged every attack up until this point but it's time to play like a bunch of morons" phase and me and the MNK decided it would be cool to run into a bomb.

SMN used Limit Break which blinded everyone and I guess people died to plumes or something because it was only the tank up and the SCH who got put into a gaol. But that didn't matter since the PLD was Seravi Edalborez, top paladin in all of Eorzea. Armed with the hopes and dreams of our fallen party, he went into beast mode and crushed that last sliver of life.

Honestly, after hearing all of the horror stories of this fight, I was pretty nervous going into it. But after experiencing it firsthand, it's really not that bad. It just takes a competent group.

    Damn straight.

Mountain Buster wasn't really all that scary. Good healers topping you off takes a lot of the edge off, rarely had to take a "raw" 4.5k hit. Think someone earlier in the thread mentioned Flash (or Ruin II) was good to blind him if you had nothing else (or just do it anyways), think I dodged like 4 so that's solid info.

Only hazy zone for me (first night tanking but 5th relic) was where to go for circle bombs when it didn't start/stop near me, so I just ate a bomb since I was too paranoid about falling off like a dumbass.

That LB was well-timed and I don't regret using it! My DoTs helped too!

Using Flash before busters can very well save runs, from what I can figure Blind works like Featherfoot or that evasion buff Ixali (or mamool, I forget) have, they don't increase the evasion STAT but directly increase the effective evasion rate, regardless of the acc/eva relation.

I imagine Blind reduces the effective hit rate in the same way.

Looking ahead to maybe doing it on WAR and they don't even get blind on Flash, much less actually decent defensive CDs? Man.

Yea, you don't want WAR for this fight, you just.....don't.

    Unless they're relic/90 geared and helping and/or you've got relic/90 healers helping, it's just.....awful.

The best they can do is save inner beast for a quick top off pre-buster or to help recover post-buster, they have thrill of battle too.

But all that aside, the sheer amount of healing they need is immense, no shield, lacking CDs, etc.

If you do have a WAR tho you can have SCH/SMN slap Ruin II blind on them pre-buster.

WAR has a bigger gear/HP baseline required compared to PLD but it's really not that bad at all. WAR certainly lacks the DR CDs from PLD but it has plenty of tools to use. Internal Release, Berserk and Infuriate can all be used as mitigation (though IR is kinda subject to RNG) alongside the obvious Foresight/Thrill of Battle. Pre-buster HP top off is a little more important on WAR than PLD but any healer worth a shit is doing that anyway. If you don't have decked out people helping I actually prefer WAR to PLD because it makes heart a breeze ensuring you have level 3 LB for final phase reducing the strain on healers from tumult build up.

As for how you should be handling it on WAR, keep Maim/Storm's Eye up and pop IB when tableflip animation starts (will heal you immediately as you take damage). Infuriate can be used for a free IB in case you need to eat a bomb or if you don't think healer is gonna top you off in time. Use Berserk/IR as a means to up your IB damage, not to push DPS. A crit zerk IB is around a 40-50% mitigation on Mt Buster. You can Berserk+Unchained at the very start of the fight and Unchained will be back off CD by heart phase, so it's a great way to establish early enmity.

Well that doesn't look so bad now. Just have to get into the feel of WAR, it's a different beast than PLD that's for sure. Any special crit milestone I should try to reach besides "more"? @414 right now; weapon is moogle axe.

Can definitely milk more, though my HP is probably on the low side for a WAR (6.3k with Defiance up, can get a little more with food) since I'm not kitted out with DL accessories. Using cheap-ish HQ crafted DPS accessories with VIT melds so missing 3-4 VIT per slot there compared to i70 things.
