Tangentially related: I heard someone mention to me in a titan group that the person that executes the melee LB doesn't matter and that the damage is based on an average of the party's stats.
I was on DRG with a lesser geared MNK and when I said I'd handle LB he said to let him do it because of this (even acknowledging my gear was better therefore my time was better spent DDing while he did the LB). He mentioned something about someone testing this in an OF thread but I've never heard anything of it again.
It would kind of make sense, the tank and healer LBs aren't based on character stats afaik. The tank ones reduce damage by set %s (up 100% at LB3) and I assume the healer ones work in a similar way (up to full raise/cure at LB3) so it would kind of make sense that damage LBs wouldn't be based simply off of the user's stats.
Purely anecdotal but I can't say I notice a significant difference in damage when LBing with or without B4B, and a 30% increase is definitely something you'd notice even for an LB1.
Has there ever been any formal testing on how LB damage works or what actually effects it?
