Welp, I hate to ask, but since everyone's cool with WARs in here, if anyone is running Titan soon on Balmung and is feeling charitable, I'm interested as either a tank or a DD.

so I managed to pull a win with this setup WHM SCH WAR BRD BRD DRG SMN BLM.

At one point I said I could get a PLD but a BRD changed to WHM and said "No, don't change. A WAR can tank this with two healers"

I've had a SCH solo heal with WAR tank. A WAR should be shaving off nearly as much damage as a PLD with IB every buster. The only real big discrepancy imo is invincible and the PLD blinding MB, but the latter is completely negated by a decent SMN or SCH.

He's starting to collect some Hoplite gear to upgrade from AF thanks to AK, but what would be his "minimum" requirements in gear for Titan? He just got Ifrit's Blade, and we're gonna get him full AK gear/some DL gear before Garuda. I was thinking full DL armor and Darklight shield from WP, but want to double check for him.

I tanked Titan as paladin with Vintage Kite (Darklight only dropped after I got Relic lol) and Ifrit's, a full Hoplite's set and Darklight accessories where Hoplite's doesn't cover it. (I think the other tank in the DF group I was in was a WAR and worse geared, otherwise they probably wouldn't have let me, haha.) I don't remember if the healers were godly or something but as Paladin, I think as long as you're clearing 5k you can do it with decent healers and some knowledge of the fight - as in, you are standing places where you're not getting hit with bombs and are using cooldowns and Flash as Mountain Busters come to (attempt to) minimize healer burden. The pull can also be iffy when you have balls to the wall DPS that outgear you (which was pretty common for me) so that's the other "hard" moment.

I don't know if it was mentioned here, but I heard that you can apparently stop Tumult mid-way with a stun or something (even if it's fully resisted) so that might help too depending on whether or not you think it's too exploity. I've not tried it myself since I haven't been to Titan since I saw that. =x

To clarify this, I keep hearing "You can silence Tumult after the 4th stomp". That is so oddly specific, and super weird.

I think the misconception is from Titan stopping for half a sec (visually only?) every like 3-4 tumults once he's doing more than 4. Unless this is something else entirely.

There is certainly some kind of odd animation delay that occurs on Tumults. It can happen at any phase but it's most common near the end of the fight where he is doing 5 or more each round.

Titan seems to skip a stomp, but rest assured you are still receiving damage for it.

I mark the first bomb in circle formation for the party generally. Usually I will then snap to focus (tank), then shift to target, but sometimes it's simpler for me to just click on Titan as I run back. When a circle bomb is on him, sometimes you slip.

Ultimately it was a dumb joke and not something to really read into. I did it like once with friends and nobody died. Was a good laugh.

So doing some Titan runs with friends and I observed a little quirk (probably not really exploitable but meh)

Tank dies in post-heart phase, eventually I get Gaol'd but I'm also highest on hate list. Titan doesn't give a fuck and keeps attacking in my direction with mountain buster and such.

Also people clamor for BRD for Rain of Death, but dunno if people overlook Dragon Kick having 10% INT debuff for stomps

If DK is ever down for more than a few moments your MNK sucks to begin with, stomps or no.

And I've observed what you described multiple times, it's funny but it doesn't really amount to much. Unless the person in the goal is a DD and both of your healers are alive to raise and recover it's just an amusing detour before a wipe.

So, I've been joining Titan through DF during the last 2 days to take breaks from crafting and I'm really baffled at what I've been seeing, some things I thought impossible to do unless it was done on purpose, stuff like Tanks dying during the Heart phase because they got hit by a landslide and fell down (HOW?!, it doesn't do Landslide to the tank, and he had nobody next to him cause they'd be dead), party wiping before phase 2 while building LB, and stuff like that.

But then I also happened to land into a titan with 2 healers that knew what they were doing, and it was the most amazing Titan I've done, it lasted a good 25 minutes, basically 4 manned it after the heart, he was doing A LOT of stomps lol, but they knew how to manage MP to heal through it. At the end, there was a bunch of people really happy for their relics, hope I get another Titan like that, but no dice, I've only got into really bad parties since.

I feel kind of sad cause in one of them someone shouted "Oh man, we were very close this time" after the tank exploded to the first mountain right after the heart and the party proceeded to wipe, little does he know if he thinks that's getting anywhere close to beat it :<...

Hey guys, I've cleared Titan quite a few times and know the fight. However, I noticed lately that one of the "bad" bomb formation on P5 is actually the cross bombs : people usually are silly enough to stay in the safe place right away, the landslide comes this way, they move and one of two things happen : they either fear of getting hit by a bomb, panic and go back too soon to safe place and are slided away OR they hit a bomb in the face (which doesn't kill you but you look stupid ), some actually hit two bombs in the face going forward or whatever.

Assuming people stay silly (still stack in the safe place) on the cross bomb formation, anyone has a neat trick to avoid landslide AND bomb? (one that does not require too much skill or perfect timing, i.e. for PUGs lol)
