PC configuration check.

Game runs on PS3.

Does your PC look like this? If so you should probably upgrade, and not just to kill Titan.

If you have real latency issues then I can only suggest learning his rotation by heart and being ready to move out of Weights before he even casts them.

I know the rotation by heart, i was helping my friend on ventrilo while I was doing WP.
I just wondered in case I could save 1k €. Seems like my pc needs an upgrade...

That depends if you are experience frame rate issues or latency issues.

If you are actually dropping frames then an upgrade might help but if it's 100% crappy latency then you're probably SOL.

Is there a way to check if it is frame or latency?

Frame: the game visibly runs like ass.

A good way to see how terrible you're lagging is to chase a mob that's being kited and see how often you land a hit (melee - using an ability i.e. Fast Blade). If it doesn't, you'll just repeatedly do your ability again and again until it registers as landing, and then the global cool down kicks off.

Download Fraps, enable the FPS overlay, enter a Titan fight. If you see your FPS dipping at times (10 is pretty awful, anything below is really god awful) then go in to your game settings and reduce your graphics. Try the lowest settings possible and try again to see if it improves.

If your FPS is still dipping to godawful levels then yes, upgrade.

If you are getting consistent 25-60 FPS then your PC isn't the problem.

Edit: IIRC you can also see your FPS from the settings menu, but probably not a good idea to do Titan with it open

FPS is like image per second right?
If it is the case then when i fight titan i'm at something like 13 image per sec or lower.
Opened the menu on stomp to be safe.
I'm already at the minimum settings.

Yeah I can imagine why 13 FPS might give you trouble with titan. My laptop, which I use on the side, runs the game at 20 and I can barely stand that. You definitely need to upgrade/make a new PC.

Btw if you press F12 (I think thats the default) you can have the FPS number overlay on your game screen.

Obviously, this depends heavily on party setup - but is it ever advisable for melee DPS (DRG and MNK) to just stay on Titan when people are put into the rock, and leaving it for the mages and archers, aside from the second rock on heart phase?

It seems barely worth it, if at all, to waste the time running to whichever random player, only to run back, often in roundabout pathways to avoid Landslides and Weight of the Land. This is, of course, assuming you have the ranged DPS to compensate.

Sure, it is. It just depends on how much DPS everyone else can pull out and where Titan's HP is. Sometimes on MNK I stay on Titan, other times I help with the Gaol. If I have Shoulder Tackle up I usually help.

People should generally be running right behind titan when targeted with Goal to make it easier for everyone to break them out.

Mages and bards are pretty guilty of not doing this in my experience; I have to tell them to pretend they're a melee and they still won't get in Soil for stomps or run to the Shadow Flare.

It's so funny cause whenever I tell people to do it so I can bane and they get hit by ground aoe's which makes it easier, they always manage to run in to the group, nowhere near titan.

I do this, not for Bane or to be useful in any way whatsoever. I do it because it makes it look like Titan just dropped a turd.

So much more fun to stand on the edge and complain when the melee aren't breaking you out in an instance.
