I collected trading cards during the period of about 1999-2004. I'd started buying odd sets for TV shows like Xena, Buffy, Stargate etc. in 1999 but then the Lord of the Rings came out and for 3 years I collected each subsequent set of cards. It must have set me back at least £5,000 or more back then. It petered out and the last set I have is from one of the Harry Potter films. Sadly they're all not worth as much as they were then.
I also have three Weta statues from Lord of the Rings, Gandalf on Shadowfax, Sauron, and Ringwraith.
And a replica of Sting
Sadly, when I moved February, I broke one of Gandalf's hands off and bits of Sauron's armour keep falling off whenever I move it. They're heavy buggers.
I almost forgot. I also have a book collection of a sort. When I was a wee girl back in 1990 I was introduced to Star Trek: The Next Generation via a book called Metamorphosis. It started my journey into sci-fi and I collected over 50 of the books, and some Deep Space Nine and Voyager ones too, plus adaptations of the films. I would get £10 pocket money a month off my grandad (the only pocket money I would get) and I would save it for when a book came out. Later on in life I had to hide my collection from my mum who went on a bender in my late teens and threatened to chuck out anything of mine that was 'weird'. I've never forgiven her for throwing out my childhood copies of the three Lord of the Rings books (from the 80's).
I have some manga sets too, Battle Royale, Death Note, Getbackers, X, Tokyo Babylon and more.
Edit: Oooh I found some pics of those Lord of Rings books that got chucked, I loved them so much:
