Evasion, Evasion Skill, Agility and Guarding.

I got some questions concerning these stats.

    Guarding
I remember some extensive test from multiple people back at the level 75 that showed how capped guard over very low level guard, didn't produce any increase in the guard rate. It just made the amount of negated damage bigger (or rather shrink the range of possible damage negation), this in spite of the "myths" claiming that "omg my 269 capped guard procs so much more often!"
Since when we received huge amount of +guard on h2h (using Oatixur) I noticed that my guard-capped PUP guards more often than it did, say, 1 year ago in Dynamis.
Not parsing logs, just judging by the animations.
So this could be completely biased, and maybe it really is.
Supposing it's not, what happened here?
Something got changed during the Guard/Parry skillup rate patch?
Or maybe skill does really affect activation rate but it has very very big tiers and we couldn't see the difference until we got the over 200 skill we got with the recent weapons?

    Evasion, Eva Skill and AGI
I remember reading a lot of theories and stuff, but no consistent tests.
How much are these stats different? One increases the "roof" of maximum possible evasion? One fills it? But what does what exactely?
I've been doing a few Dynamis runs on DC targets (well they proc IEP now but you got what I mean) recently and while the evasion rate is definitely very high, I was expecting it to be even higher.
Also noticed that a THF I was playing with, evaded more damage than my PUP. Judging this from the fact that in spite he killed slower than me, he needed way less healing than I did over the course of 2hrs fighting different targets. (meaning he evaded more than I did)
Now I assumed (maybe wrong assumption?) what with the huge amounts of AGI and +EVA granted by the new gear, I would have been at "capped" evasion rate against those DC mobs.
Is this assumption right or wrong?
What produced the different results? Because our AGI/Eva were probably very close, mine likely higher because of my better gear.
So the only difference here is likely his higher Evasion Skill.
Maybe I reached the cap of "possible" evasion for my current evaskill and to get even higher I'd need a better evaskill?

What could be a good environment to perform an extensive test of these stats?
Ballista with a gearless MNK (just haste) trying to hit a THF and a non-THF target for ~15 mins should provide enough data to analyze maybe? Or that wouldn't matter because player vs player calculations are done in a different way?

Evasion bonus traits and/or lack of signet on one of the charactors will likely be the difference.

Evasion caps out at 80% evasion rate. Once you have enough evasion to achieve that, getting more via skill or agi or raw +eva will do nothing

Guard skill most certainly influences guard rate; you either misread, read something retarded, or just don't remember correctly. It does NOT influence damage taken- a guard is and always is -1 to monster PDIF (you can think of it like an anti-critical).

I think what he was saying and from what I remember reading is it like parry skill made very little since you would pretty much be floored on anything that mattered and iirc the cap on it wasn't that high anyways. But against ep/dc mobs you could get off the floor easy. That said I wouldn't take a I didn't parse I looked at animation as too telling of rate unless he actually recorded gaurd/not gaurds

I remember reading long ago that Accuracy helped countering or guarding. Do you guys know which one is helped by accuracy or is this just straight up wrong?

Countering. Since you are actuallly trying to hit the mob if you fail the acc check you just don't counter
