I noticed whenever i tried using macros, there's a delay in execution as opposed to manually pressing skills. Tried putting second delays inbetween each skill but then that just comes out too slow for me. I play at 7ms ping so I'm not sure if that could be a cause to why pressing it manually is alot quicker for me.

You can queue manually pressed skills (if you press a skill 0.5 seconds before the GCD is up) it will queue the skill and automatically execute it when your GCD is up. This does not happen in macros.

See this thread for more discussion.

However, if DPS is too good and you never see the circle bombs, this opportunity is lost.
I'm in the "DPS is too high to see Bombs" camp so... yeah. Nice find though!

I suspect this is more of a product of server delay than anything honestly. Kind of how things like Fists of Earth, Sacred Soil, and Neurolink may say they give you the buff but you don't actually receive it until about 0.5 seconds have elapsed.

Or how if you Steel Peak and the animation comes out, then they cast a move, and then they get stunned out of it a fraction of a second later.

I have no real other evidence of it but that's how I've always assumed it was. If Macros do indeed not do this, you may be right though.

With the determination on it, would CT feet be better than Myth feet?

Caues Coil isn't being nice so far.
Boots and gloves is all I have left that isn't i90 and I'm using CT gloves atm.
Thinking about just using CT feet till then and just hoping Coil will drop something sometime.

9 det vs 3 STR, 15 crit, 21 speed. Nope.

By all means it's an upgrade from Darklight, but it's not comparable to the i90 feet.

Yeah I'll just deal with CT feet till coil drops then.
Cause I don't wanna spend myth on MNK for pieces that are going to be replaced by coil drops.
And it's not like MNK is currently not geared enough for any content out there atm anyway.

Curious if anyone has done any testing with a Crit build vs Determination build and if one came out ahead of the other. There's way too many "BiS" builds out there.

What that should tell you is that as long as everything is i90 and you have enough ACC, the other differences don't amount to much.

    Pretty much this.

If you're trying to go for broke though, "Max Deeps Build" is this. Keep in mind this is without accuracy being a factor

    Allagan Weapon
    Allagan Visor
    Allagan Body
    Allagan Hands
    Allagan Belt
    Allagan Pants
    Allagan Feet
    Hero's Necklace
    Titan Earring
    Maiming Wrist
    Vortex Ring
    Maiming Ring

Feel free to tweak pieces to meet your Accuracy needs. Usually this just involves using Maiming Choker, Melee Pants, and possibly Ifrit Bangle or Melee Head. Have fun.

Nice. Looks like you really don't need much Myth gear at all compared to some of the builds out there. I've got the melee belt/legs/headpiece so I guess I'm sorta doin' it right. Thanks for a quick reply.

Last test I saw gave those results iirc:
    #1 det build
    #2 skill speed build
    #3 crit build

But someone said it was a bit biased since in the SS build you have tons of det + crit.

Currently on my det build w/o t5 drops and t4 belt/boots, i'm running 317 det no food but i sacrificed a lot of crit (400 exact) acc w/o food is 481 i believe. I have to check my gear when i get home, my lodestone i think updated w/ my fisher gear. Lol

New 50 monk here and had a question regarding rotations. 50 brought 2 new moves that I'm having trouble adding to my rotation... Perfect balance and dragon kick.

Regarding dragon kick, my problem is during boss fights or fights that matter, I have a hard time keeping the 3rd stack of grease lightning up when throwing in a dragon kick for the 10% damage debuff. Usually having to dodge some attack so when I dragon kick, I lose grease lightning.

Which is the higher priority? Is it better to pass on dragon kick if it means keeping grease lightning up.

Also, how do you incorporate perfect balance or when should you use it? Right now Ive only used it on Garuda to AoE spam feathers. Do you still gain the form bonus if you're just spamming one move? Like the crit hit bonus for bootshine... Can I perfect balance and just spam that for massive crits while balance is active.

I'm not sure I understand the issue with Dragon Kick. Just replace every other bootshine with Dragon Kick and you should be golden.

Perfect Balance is typically used as an opener to gain greased lightning quickly, you do gain the form bonus. Be careful with doing the method you described, if you only spam bootshine you're probably going to lose your greased lightning bonus. It has other uses as well, for example, I use it for AoE spam PB + Rockbreaker. It burns through your TP incredibly fast, but works quite well.

Just use the attack from the position the game allows you to attack from at that time. That's really it.
Losing GL3 is a far more significant loss than losing the DK debuff.

I honestly have no issies at all unless it's mobs disappearing like the primals do etc.

Never stop attacking just because you're on the wrong side (though obv try to be on the right side). MNK attacks still get the buff or debuff going even from the wrong position.

Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Snap Punch >
Bootshine > True Strike > Snap Punch > repeat from the top

Replace Snap Punch with Demolish if it needs re/applying, or Rockbreaker for AoE. Apply Touch of Death where you can. That's 90% of MNK.

(ToD >) Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Snap Punch >
Bootshine > True Strike > Demolish > Fracture/ToD repeat from the top
Fixed. Do Seravi's one when you actually know the MNK rotation well enough to not get confused, otherwise popping in Demolish along with other DoTs will confuse your brain and just make you drop shit or forget. Stick to this rotation until you can do it blindfolded.

Always open with ToD then start your rotation. Your opening without Perfect Balance is generally DK > Twin > Demolish (GL1) > DK > True > Snap (GL2) > Bootshine > Twin > Demolish (GL3). There are other orders, but I believe in getting dots and de/buffs applied right away. Don't be afraid to overlap moves if you get confused in your rotation, just make sure you keep attacking and get your head straight for the next set. Nothing is more important than keeping GL3 up, if you're waiting for any reason then you're doing it wrong (or know exactly what you're doing).

Demolish, Fracture and ToD all line up kind of nicely. Demolish > Fracture usually means both will wear off at the same time, but with ToD's duration you might have to skip a Fracture and just ToD. Using Demolish > Fracture > ToD tends to risk letting DK and Twin effects drop unless you have decent skillspeed. Drop Fracture from your rotation at low TP, drop ToD at even lower TP.

Silly. Opening a combo (with or without Perfect Balance) with Dragon Kick is pointless. You don't inflict the Dragon Kick debuff unless you're in Opo-opo form which you wont have while initially opening so all you're doing is robbing yourself of a guaranteed critical hit by not opening with Bootshine instead.

And you won't have a garanteed crit if you're not in opo either >.>
