The bit about DRG's contributions is what got me. I don't think DD jobs have ever been more homogeneous than they are now. Chalking a job up to AFK-utility at this stage is just ignorant

Honestly I don't even bring DRGs that can't pull their weight in damage. Defense really isn't a big issue and I'd rather random oatixur mnk that can't go wrong than some scrub DRG.
