Yeah I was about to mention it too, but couldn't verify/remember. They will probably patch this in with next smaller update after the event is over. They did this a lot in XI, where you were stuck with all your event crap in your Mog House, until they patched in the NPC's to add that events gear.

I bought three of the male tops on accident (because why the fuck are there be male bikini tops?) and the game won't let me throw them away.

Think of them as tank tops? Also, the new male swimsuits are amazing. Talk about male lingerie, it's all leather straps and a tiny speedo. I'd love to see Solid Snake in this shit.

XIV is great if just for the swimsuits.

Here I am in just the speedo. I took off the leather strap harness before I slid into bed.

Losing the FATE still gives me 20 coupons, but just out of curiosity, how does one succeed? Mindlessly killing the Bomblets doesn't seem to be the answer.

I always just clicked on a balloon and then proceeded to murder the 10-20 bomblets with quick knock. Rinse and repeat. I don't think I've ever lost it that way.

Assuming all the FATEs are the same (my only experience is with the one out at Costa Del Sol), you just need to last long enough for the Bombard Cascadier NPCs to kill the big guy in the center that you're not allowed to target before 100 cascadiers die. The only point to killing the bombs is to keep them from killing the NPCs.

I can't be 100% sure that's correct, but that's what I gather from doing the fate multiple times and reading the description.
