equip 2 of your chars with alert rings and the enemy first strike rate will go down to 0% meaning your chain cant be broken, if you want to be on the absolute safe side equip 3 of them with alert rings. At least I never got a 1. hit strike from enemys after equiping 3 for hours (unsure about 2)

Had the same d*mn problem. Posted it just a page back, But it gets better shortly, and I strongly recommend the Conjurer sidequest too, it hits you in the FEEEEEEELS, and I also entirely disagree with their choice in the end but whatever. (Spoiler maybe even for you) - After going back to the sage a second time, and Tiz explainig to Agnes about Ringabel/Airy, I just said f**k it and blew up the fire crystal, Airy shows her true colors then and the story jumps to the Finale chapter. Kinda sad to see the game ending but I'm going to grind a few job levels before i fight her.

Might be some decent spoilers in here... Though a lot of speculation toward the end. so -

Spoiler free - I Blew it up and the game continued on as normal, just skipping ahead a to the Final chapter.

I was probably far enough in the storyline for it to be a case of "Whatever". After Ringabel gets his memory back and tells Tiz about Airy, you visit the sage (I think after activating 3/4 crystals in chapter 6), once done, Tiz and Agnes travel to the one place again to meet with Yuylana, there he tells Agnes about Airy, and Yuylana tells them both that if a crystal is destroyed, It will eventually regrow so long as the crystal core is in tact, and the crystal core is the necklace Agnes wears. So bearing that in mind, I opted to blow up the Fire crystal, and Airy tries to be all friendly and begs you to stop, I blow it up anyway, she kills me and my party, we get alive, and the storyline continues on with it going to the "Finale" Chapter where I must fight Airy in the great chasm

As far as I'm concerned idgaf what ending I get I have youtube to find the other one, I'm just going to play the game as I would and see where my choices take me.

Who knew I'd laugh at Victoria/Artemia/Kikyo or finally put Qada/DeRosa/Profiteur in their place? Also you get some pretty nifty story on Khint (I think? maybe I'm reading too much into it) and Jackal. Don't know if Khamer is evil or not in this world, but I felt bad killing him for once

I guess Growth Egg + Alarm Earrings x3 works for grinding but usually I just slap on the egg while running to sidequests and don't bother to change any other gear cuz lazy

Vampire sidequest handsdown is the highlight of the game to me. Such a great story; and for me the boss fight was actually difficult. Took me several tries and trying different strats (I'm sure there was an easier way to beat him, but felt satisfying figuring a way to do it myself)

The reason for doing Chapter 7 is because you steal gear that's otherwise in the final dungeon and comes in quantities of 1 ftr; i just got the bad/normal/unfulfilling ending and the final chests give you shit like blood sword and lordly robes which you can steal in chapter 7 (and in doubles with Rob Blind)

Also, the rematches in Chapter 8 (seem to) have consumable steals only. Elixirs, etc
EDIT: immediately after posting this, i stole some more 'endgame' gear lol from Ominas MORE LORDLY ROBES

Yes, it'll put you back in the world you were in before you broke the crystal. Like, I was in Chapter 7 and broke the Earth Crystal after awakening the Wind. Upon beating the boss it asked me if I wanted to save & restart that world? I was dreading doing Orthros again (since for some reason he always give me the most trouble) but it just spat me back in Chapter 7 w/ the Wind Crystal awakened.

Ended up just using Rampart and Stillness to block Energy Burst myself. Made him a pushover. Getting all the spells is fun, Vampire seems to be quite god damn powerful with a good arsenal of Genomes to play with.
