Anyone know what controls Big Pharma's heal potency? Currently can only get a 490 heal so it limits my gil/hr a bit.
edit: equipping Commerce on a Salve-maker doubles healing potency.. Also seems to be affected by mnd.

heal lore and holy one if you have them; had my big pharmas doing over 3k
Also, I did it as a mage job for higher MND; equipped heal lore and holy one (or maybe I was on salve maker and just equipped holy one and speed up; to make sure they were healing at the start of each attack round by going first)
Finally sent out a 999,999 dmg attack.
Feelsgood
So I just started not long ago and I am getting the shit kicked out of me by the dragon in the Vestments Cave at LV 17. Running THF, WHM, MNK, Knight; even with protect, the mow + single target combo effectively kills my WHM instantly. Thinking of just killing mobs for a bit and trying to hit 18 or 19.
Also, is there an ideal strat for building your town? I just did Armor shop to LV 2 and am trying to clear a boulder to make it over to the weapon shop.
Gonna add you :D
Also on another note, can we have the spreadsheet link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...=sharing#gid=0
put on the front page by someone? Thanks :>
i put down BD for a while after struggling with an Eternian Command battle in Chp8 but finally got around to finishing it
final final truly final correct ending spoilers
Spoiler: show
at first i was mad cuz the ending seemed the same as "bad" then all the small changes and then the final scene
Spoiler: show

Added new people, but Yukari's FC is invalid.
Edit: What's the best way to make money early on? I'm still on Chapter 1. :<
I wouldn't bother grinding for money until you get merchant. Once you get merchant, you can get the More Money support ability as well as the game-breaking Big Pharma (Rank 11). If you're lucky enough to snag the Mammon nemesis via updating, you can also sell the elixirs she carries for a hefty amount assuming you can survive long enough to run away.
badass live music from the game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLpBeNWRbRo - tiz battle theme, mah fav.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ao_JgbJQU - edeas battle theme. bunch more too. so goood
Finished this last night..

I tried out something new in ch 7 and 8 since VERY MINOR SPOILERS (none to the story at all; just about the fights in general)
Spoiler: show
Mnk/Vamp
-Natty Talent
-P. Dmg + 10%
-Speed + 20% (Needed for my particular group for turn order)
-Monster Ability Up
I spend the first round absorbing attack/magic attack from enemies to reduce damage taken (especially since not wearing any armor)
After that; highest overall damage I could personally come up with.
Firestorm x4 on 4 enemies = 159,984/round; Once every 4-5 rounds, you'll need to replace one Firestorm with a magic thirst though.
Then I keep a Ninja for single target phys dmg to focus on taking a particular enemy out first (7,000-9,999 depending on buffs x2 per round for 3 rounds (Ikik takes up a round) = 42,000-59,994 dmg/turn on a single target
9999 x6 isn't that much more dmg over 9999 x4 when it comes to a single target really, but nin is also useful for utility when things get hairy, I'll use it to make sure my tank is the target for those rounds, and I have support abilities to compounding, so I can aid in items (whether it be Giant Drafts for double HP, resurrections, or general healing items)
My general strat has me at 3 BP/turn on every char, so the Ikik attack x3 and Firestorm x4 are generally an every turn thing
How I've felt about ch.5-7 thus far:
Spoiler: show
Just got to Chapter 5 and decided to grind some job levels up. I looked over at my normal levels after about an hour or so and was like 90. Whoops.
So one tiny thing I had wished they did:

A bit more detail on Mammon: 'Protect' and set her to 'Send' status as soon as you can. Don't kill her, but once you get Thief use it to steal the elixirs (or use the Thief Knife as an item to mug), run away and then Merchant 'Salesman' ability to sell it to another mob for 2.4x what a store would pay.
I've yet to get a Mammon sent to my Norende. Have gotten tons of the other ones, but can't get Blizzaja for fuck all.
