Personally, when Ringabel and Tiz talk and they mention (I think it's after the third or fourth cycle) that Airy's wings are a countdown, I thought that I had to follow through to the end of the countdown while a friend of mine thought you had till it reached the end to catch on. Now, I thought the party, like me, was in it to see what happened when the countdown reached its end, but when you reach the end it comes out that they never actually caught on. Like, I think Airy tells them it's a countdown and then Ringabel is like "oh, so they were a countdown, I see..". Was kinda incompetent and disappointing..

I thought they figured out the countdown? I mean it was obvious that it was a countdown to me after Ringabel said 'there was a 5 and a 4 and now I see a 3.' You mean he + Party couldn't put two and two together at that point ? Dumb party is dumb. I'm taking my time with the refights at the moment.

There was that, but I also didn't like that the characters ended up in the original world (except Ringabel). I think it was the third world where the Water Vestal was alive, Tiz's brother survived, Edea was reunited with her parents, and you defeated that world's Ringabel. And the 4th and 5th world, the asterisk holders weren't evil (except the three or four you lock in jail in world 4) and they all survived. I mean, I get that it's great they were able to return to their original world and all, but the first world really just seemed disappointing by comparison.

Yah, I didn't like that too much either. I wish they had stayed in that last world, it seems much better... everyone got what they wanted. I guess it was suppose to be some "no place like home" crap or something but seriously, There'd been very little question for me if i was Tiz... I mean hmm, stay here were my brother is back and needs me, or go back to my dead brother world?

I mean with Edea it might be a bit harder cause her mom and dad were still alive and well in her world, and you know, they were the ones who raised her... Tiz/Ring/Agnes just kinda picked the dumb choice there. shoulda stayed in the good world

I dunno, it's really weird.. Like, I almost feel Ringabel says countdown at some point, but it's been a while and I put over 100 hours into the game, so probably not going back to it to check for a long time. Definitely was some facepalming when Airy "shocked" everyone.

The refights in the last world are brutal and a lot of fun. Even with capped jobs and levels, a lot of them were tough and required using a specific setup for specific fights.

And it kinda makes the fourth world (I think it was..) a big "Don't be an emotion wreck, Mom and Dad. I'm back! But I'm not actually from this world. And I'm gonna leave you. Oh, and your daughter is really dead. Bye!" The second to last and last were the best imo. With Agnes at least, I can maybe understand her returning because that world needs at least one Vestal (world four had the Water Vestal, so they'll be ok..ish).

On the topic of those later worlds though, does the game ever explain what happened to the Edea, Tiz, and Agnes of those worlds? Second and third the Blm and Whm/Mnk make comments that make it sound like the party attacked them but then they never show up again (I assume they were otw to steal the airship, but we beat them around the world with Grandship). In four, they're all dead. But then in 5 and 6, they never show up, right?

I think those are the right number of worlds.. how many times did we have to awaken the crystals again..?

I gave the journal one more read yesterday and it became clear when I got to the 6th month entry. I facepalmed because I had read all 128 pages when I was able to open the book when I first started playing and it didn't even occur to me at the time who the book belonged to.

Side note: I am not looking forward to the battles ahead.

For Edea, think about it this way. If you met an exact copy of your mom who treated you just as your mom did, but your mom that actual raised you was still alive and existed, would you leave the mom who raised you for the one who is an exact copy and raised a dead you?

I hope that makes sense. Basically i can see where Edea is coming from. Her real parents, the ones who actually raised her, are still alive, and regardless of how identical they are, you were only raised by one of them. However for her parents in the world where she died, that does kinda suck for them... But I imagine its not as horrible as you make it sound. I imagine it more like "Hey, our daughter died, but she lives on in another world", IDK in some JRPG logic it might give her parents comfort to know their daughter still exists outside of this world...

Anywho, Agnes reason to go back might have been because the original world needs a Vestal, but i mean, the storyline basically says the world doesn't need a Vesta, no? Anywho, Tiz still made a retarded choice no matter how you look at it. Agnes had a kinda reason, Ringabel would probably want to be with Edea, who was dead in the last world, and Edea likely wanted to be with her real parents, not alternateworld ones. Tiz just.. IDK, he had /nothing/ left for him in the old world. Dead parents, Dead brother, dead everything... all he had left was Edea/Ring/Agnes, so if his only conceivable reason to go back would be for them.

Did they ever mention how far in the future Bravely Second will take place? Seems like Tiz has been unconscious a while considering Magnolia states he gets to live in her era. But I thought the original crew would be back in some capacity? Erm...

Also, I never got how Ringabel was able to go back as his world's Alternis to stop Airy from killing everyone. Airy has been jumping dimensions, not through time meaning when we kill Butterfly Airy there should be no way he could go back to the point in time where caterpillar Airy is about to wipe out his warriors of light before she would travel on to World 1.

Also disappointing Ringabel left our Edea to go back to his world. No one in this game shipped. xD

I took it as he went to a completely new world to save that world's Edea.

Why he didn't stay with Edea, I have no idea.. But, then again, if somehow they were able to travel back, that would make sense for the group to return to their original world. Even by my theory that he went to a new world, there should not have been a caterpillar Airy to fight, so hrmmmmm....

66 hours in the game on chapter 6. Just grinding my jobs to cap. Lvl84 for all, and it seems the xp required to level up is capped at 70,000. Last increase was 50,000 at lvl70.

Not getting vampire and conjurer, not on this playthrough at least. But I found a stupidly cheap way to win all random battles very quickly without obliterate from conjurer. Give an Arcanist that Group cast all skill from Black Mage, and then Sleep → Twilight = Everything is dead. 1-turn, unscathed, sweeper all the way.

Gonna need 3 or 4 accessories to nullify sleep. This is best done in the florem area(doesn't work on undead/bosses) and the enemy first strikes with the trees is what calls for sleep nullifiers(Clothspins bought in yulyana woods). Funny that there is no job that provides the sleep immunity ability.

Sleep is a 75% chance to inflict but I haven't seen it fail on any one mob(or mobs) in a group yet.

There are other ways, like Poison → Exterminate, but the RDM in me prefers sleeping LOL.

So about a certain character..

At the start of the game Airy is on the "5th" dimension?? I can't see a "5" on her wings though.. I've seen the 4 and currently the 3. The 6th obviously occurred before the start of the game. If that makes sense..
It's kind of creepy how her wing design changes and no one notices for all that time at first.

Why are you skipping Vampire and Conjurer? Vampire is arguably one of the best jobs in the game.

I did all of my grinding by giving everyone spear lore and spammed Crescent Moon outside of Florem. You can also do spam high jump or any of the arcanist methods.

Correct, Airy is on 5 when you first meet her. IMO the numbers on her wings aren't too conspicuous unless you are actually looking for them. Whenever you see her, she's constantly moving around as well. I don't really blame the MCs for not noticing. You can see the 5 in this image. It looks like an S.

They start teaming up. Vampire is solo until the final chapter I believe, Evoker gets a team up the chapter before that. Additionally, Vampire does have a lot of Genomes which are inaccessible between the second and final worlds.

I must admit I'm not confident I can beat either of them. I've done a ton of research on the game and know the endings and all that. It is bad enough I feel I don't stand a chance against the final 2 bosses of the game, especially the last one. So yeah been forcing myself to play while struggling with confidence.

The crystal bosses have been a joke - they are the traditional tank and spank. The Red mage boss was the only boss that gave me any kind of trouble.

In short - bosses that require a strategy is where I get lost at. You need a whole lot of that in chapter 8.

Arcanist with Black magic. Poison all, exterminate spam. Use a spiritmaster to keep your people buffed and healed. Ninja/Performer for utsusemi/catch me spam.

Late to the party but I got this a few weeks ago and have been loving it. Ranks up there with Chrono Trigger and Persona 4 as "most fun I've had playing a JRPG ever". The music is to die for.

Ch5+

Looping is kind of annoying for the events that are literally word for word the exact same. Enjoying it more now that bosses are being grouped up. Almost done with Chapter 7.

I should have gone for false ending last chapter (when Ringabel outright asks "what happens if you keep going/break the crystal?") but I backed out once I saw "Finale" because I was afraid that would lock me out of the real ending. I should have done it then because then I got Conjurer and Obliterate powerleveled. Felt too powerful when I did it just now. Beating some of the weaker boss teamups with random job setups just because I don't have many good damage dealing jobs that aren't mastered yet.

Conjurer has been the hardest boss for me so far because he just oneshotted someone every turn usually.

I didn't guess Alternis = Ringabel until the beginning of that chapter when I felt like rereading the journal. Then it all made sense especially with the really obvious sketches in the book. The confirm was just Alternis's battle start animation being the same as one of Ringabel's. I though the Ringabel was gonna be a traitor or something. Same with the kid from the mythril mines, I thought he was gonna be the ninja in disguise.

Month late but I didn't have any trouble with that fight with my "regular" party at that point:

Freelancer/Performer: My Hero + Mimic spam
Spiritmaster/White Mage: heals, put elemental immunity on 4th
Dark Knight/whatever (Sword Magic if you don't have Blood Blade): Drain sword magic + Dark Nebula spam
Swordmaster/Pirate: Free Lunch + Amped Strike spam
...with the first 3 being dark immune (shield).

Hasten World was actually helping me more than them, which lead to me using that for the rest of the game. Never needed to use Stillness in any fight.

I had more trouble with

the mage party with Qada, Yulyana, Ominas, and Mephilia. Had to resort to 3 Pirate/Swordmasters and Spiritmaster/White Mage, all with Stand Ground and Absorb P/M Damage (read: 75% chance to not die from damage). Had to keep using that for the gauntlet of all the bosses in a row. So boring but effective. The beauty of this is you can have everyone use Before Swine first and Mephilia will eventually just kill herself that way. Then you can kill whoever you want in any order with Free Lunch + Amped Strike spam.

Beat the game yesterday. Amazing ending, amazing music, amazing everything. Want that sequel. So many questions.

What's up with Tiz? I know probably sequel material but nobody even questions the stuff Ouroboros says about the celestial in him. Then he just up and dies? Giving back what he borrowed? Wat?

Felt the optional secret boss in Dimension's Hasp was really easy compared to the aformentioned mage party in Eternia.
