Not the cheap as seen on tv ones. And even then, poisons far more effective and don't annoy certain pets (if you have small rodents, etc).

I'm sure it's been said, but when going for poisons, slow is better. Raid and even half the traps in the market just kill too fast. A good, cheap poison to use is borax. You can make a mixture using hot water, 10 parts sugar (or something equally irresistable to the insect you are trying to kill), and 1 part borax. Put it in a container that is protected from the elements so it doesn't spill or evaporate.

I've had better success with professional mixtures though. It's pretty much the exact same thing, except the attractant they use is designed to be incredibly delicious to them. I had ant problems in my florida home, and tried borax with mixed success (half the time they ignored it) but then I tried a commercial mix and as soon as they even touched the liquid the world stopped and all they focused on was filling their stomachs. 2 1/2 days later all you see is little black bodies dead around the house. All with a 3 dollar tube of the stuff.

I saw one of those freaky things Kerb posted the other day. I didn't squash it and now I am kinda glad I didn't. I don't mind spiders cause they eat the other shit. If those things eat other bugs as well, then I'm ok with that. I also have leftover diatomaceous earth, so maybe I'll lay that down around outside, too.

Also, just as a heads up, that shit is wonderful. It can be ingested to get rid of worms in cats/dogs/animals, safe for humans to eat, touch, roll around in. Instead of getting pest control products and toxins to get rid of roaches/bugs, try the dia. earth food grade first. Lay it around and see if you notice a change in a couple weeks. It'll kill them and the bebbies.
