You should own a DSi or a 3DS. They are both good systems.
I look at this game and this is all I see.
Just beat Shantae a couple of days ago, excellent game. Just started to realize towards the end that there were a lot of similarities between it and Simon's quest. If they ever do a HD remake, the only thing they need to change is her hair whip range and the charge time on the elbow smash. Those two moves got me killed more times than anything else since they're so clumsy compared to Risky's revenge.
Go back even further~

Most backers should have their codes by now.
Been playing it on my Vita the past couple hours. Poor performance issues aside (it seems v-sync'd on Vita, so if it's not running 60 the rare time, it's either running 30 or 20fps), I've been enjoying it. Bright and colourful, good platforming thus far. Virt's soundtrack top-notch as expected although I'm getting Mighty Switch Force vibes from this game more than I do Shantae.
Been a long friggen' wait, and there's further waiting for the Kickstarted stuff to be added eventually.
So this game is out digitally today, Just got it on steam but haven't started it yet, anyone else pick it up and have thoughts on how it is so far? :D
Hubby worked on this game, and I hope it does really well. I can tell you that the team was super focused on giving a good product that the fans of the series would enjoy. So far the reviews have been good which has made hubby at least very happy. XD
I found it to be alright. Worst part of it all for me was backtracking underwater sections of certain zones just to 100% the game. Took me 5 hours to fully clear.
Depending on how the Risky mode is handled, and eventual other characters go, it could shape up to be a rather decent title overall with the added content.
I backed it, and got a code on like the 9th or something, and beat it last week. I enjoyed it. It's charming and fun. Main critique would be that you get very overpowered by the end if you're collecting everything, and in turn, a lot of the magic and all seems to be pretty redundant (I had a 98% clear rate, wondering if I needed to trade for the two dances since I had everything marked off on the map). Kind of like Kaisha mentioned though, none of the additional characters to play as were there yet, and I imagine they could put challenge modes or something in as well. As-is, it's probably tuned more for younger audiences, though there are a handful of difficulty spikes that kind of run counter to that.
