What should I spend my mythology on next? I have +1 sword and we've just started farming coil last weekend and got to turn 4.
Total Myth this week = 547
Hero's Ring of Fending = +7 Vit +3 Parry +5 Accuracy
or
Valor Coronet = +7 Def +8 Str +9 Vit -11 Parry +6 Accuracy +15 C.hit rate
Or save until next week and get
Valor Cuisses
w/ Hopilite Feet +2 Def +6 Str +8 Vit +4 Parry -8 Accuracy +10 Det
The head looks like the biggest upgrade at this time but losing 11 parry doesn't seem smart. If I had the allagan feet then the legs would be #1. I'm leaning towards getting just the ring and waiting to see how drops go for us in coil. Is my gear good enough to MT through turn 4? How about turn 5?
I would say get Head. Allagan head is supposedly from Turn 5 so it's the most unlikely piece for you to just pick up.
If you're just looking at it defensive wise, you have 7 DEF 29 HP 8 STR (Going to depend on your tiering) versus 14 Parry. I'd definitely pick the former. Then throw in the fact that it also has far better offensive stats.
Plus, you could always switch that Hoplite's Ring with a melded HQ Gryphonskin Ring which is generally considered to be better than Hero's (mileage may vary depending on who you ask)
Head because do it.
What would you consider HQing first? Curtana or Holy Shield? After I hit my cap this week I'll only have enough for one.
Do the one...then the other
Also Shield first
Sadly no coil group yet. So I guess shield it is.
Sorry if asked before, but what order should I prioritize Mythology gear? I've got tanking DL for every slot except one ring, in which I have Hero's Ring of Fending, from Warrior, but don't want to spend Myth on it until SE is actually going to make the job better.
Here I am similar question. I have a coil group, switched to PLD and am trying to gear it up as fast as possible. Both my ilvl 55 jewelry have the same melds (+7 vit)
assuming for Darklight I should do waist > wrists > earring > ring > neck
for Myth my next purchase should be gloves unless I get body or pants drop in the near future... shouldn't bother buying more hero's jewelry, should upgrade sword last?
Spoiler: show
I'm at 399 tomes atm, but my PLD is only 21, so I guess I'll just do Valor Breastplate and then save up for Curtana and Shield I guess.
Got my Cuisses last night, very /excitement. Unfortunately we got Accessoried from Turn1-4, so no chance at Heavy Allagan Flanchards. ;-;
Was thinking of dropping a Quint-Meld on HQ Militia Sabatons but can't for the life of me sit down to figure out the materia caps. So I guess I'll stick with Hoplite until Allagan drops. Although that extra Parry would be nice...
Parry/crit/acc/speeds all cap the same. Det is capped 10 for militia head so I assume it's same for feet. Any other caps I'm forgetting that are relevant?
I have a question for those in coil. My current group is having some issues with T2 ADS. The most common problem seems to be that firestorm and so on causes issues with bards so they miss silence. As such, the plds have been picking up the slack instead.
However I noticed that if we go the other... east? route, we could bypass firestorm and increase piercing and blunt damage ( which should be better since we have 2 bards and a onk ) at the expense of slashing.
So pretty much, how much of an issue is it with hate if we go this route? Is it hard / impossible to hold hate? Do DD need to hold back too much to make it worthwhile?
Done that route with my old FC. You can hold hate just fine as long as your bards set up Quelling Strikes at the start. The biggest problem for us has been Ballast wrecking our silence rotation. Not a problem if your bards are doing it though.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ballast's range is smaller. So if you tank him at the wall, your bards won't have to worry about it.
When we did silence rotations, it was on the tanks.
Bards will literally -never- be within range of ballast unless your strat involves having ADS tanked by the bards. Ballast is a melee DPS penalty and an annoyance for pld silence, not brds.
I'm a little confused by how Firestream is causing silencing issues, but if you're having Ballast problems I feel bad for you son. It hits ~315 degrees but behind ADS is not one. Tanks should never be getting hit by Ballast when they need to take maybe three steps to get behind ADS and avoid it.
That said, going west twice will lock out Ballast and Gravity Field (the most annoying move of all), leaving you to contend with just Firestream.
Wouldn't know, bards just keep saying that they missed High Voltage because of dodging firestorms. Figured Ballast would help them in that regard since it's not really an issue for a tank to dodge that.
