If you get an allagan drop you're gonna use it as it is likely an upgrade from whatever you're using unless you already purchased the equivalent af2 piece with your myth and it is BiS. The whole min/max thing is completely muddied by the RNG of coil. Just use what you get. At this point stuff can be cleared without "best in slot" anyway since the differences between many pieces are so insignificant in the greater scheme of things anyway. Understanding raid mechanics, your job, and the ability to execute trump A vs. B micro-comparisons with gear.

Best in slot charts are the real myth at this point. I have yet to meet anyone that has gotten perfectly lucky. Not that it can't happen, but it's so early in the game that trying to build the ultimate gear set isn't always in the cards when you "need" that extra INT or VIT to improve the group as a whole. That's what I think anyway.

I'm with Eanae; never, ever expect Coil drops. I've been doing it longer than probably 99% of non-legacy players, or those too, and my static never gets PLD drops.

We're handing out brd/drg/mnk drops with a sprinkling of tank drops at this point. We still have yet to see a single healer item.

Yeah I'm wishing I got this body earlier so I could justify using it in the name of RNG. I love bulky armor models. But now I have to use valor. But honestly all that reallllly matters in the end is getting that ilvl 90 VIT and the amount of parry between the BIS set and a hand-me-down-esque thrown together set is marginal. Dare I say SE gave us decent options to not have to all use the same shit.

Have full DF and relic +1's. Looking to spend first non-relic myths. Most people say Valor body just because, but then I math it and it's the one choice that seems to lose parry - without adding VIT - and only really adds a ton of DET. Getting hero's ring instead would add parry+vit without drawbacks.

Also people say get valor body for looks. I agree DL is awful, of course. Consensus is still valor body? (or tldr, is DET really worth that much?)

I could be wrong but I think a lot of people go to Valor Coronet first and that's part of what makes Valor Surcoat a lot more appealing? That's at least what I did anyway (Valor Head + quint melded HQ Militia Body until I could get Valor Surcoat)

Although going to Coronet first is not a VIT upgrade from DL (it actually drops 1 VIT iirc). It might be with Hoplite though, I didn't use mine.

But basically unless you go to Gloves first, you're going to have to eat that temporary suck upgrade to get the huge upgrade on the second piece.

Paladin ( or Tanks I suppose ). Turn 2 ADS Swapping. Dummies work similar to mobs for practice purposes, however, is that a buff that can "simulate" ADS's debuff? Obviously has to be on the tank. Should have a relatively similar duration ( 20-25?s ).

Well, as luck would have it, a friend invited me to a random Coil group tonight, and I ended up getting the Heavy Allagan Armor, so no point in spending my mythology on the Valor Surcoat now, lol. I was thinking about getting the Valor Coronet instead, since it would replace the Hoplite Circlet I'm using now, plus I hear the Allagan Helm drops in Turn 4, which would probably still be a ways off for me. Any suggestions for my next piece?

Coronet for sure. Valor surcoat should be your last piece to get now. Allagan helm is turn 5 from Twintania, not 4.

With food (HQ Toast) and the party buff, my HP sits at 6854. I'm so close to 7000, I can almost taste it.

Saying "mithra" doesn't help since each clan has it's own stats too. The base for Keepers of the Moon miqote is 17 and the base for Keepers of the Sun miqote is 20. If you're gonna account for race, you need to account for clan as well.

Biggest racial differences are like 6 and biggest clan differences are like 4 or 5.
