Off tank tanks large snake, main tank takes the first set of two small snakes. Tank with the large snake stays out of the pit for the first stack explosion. This gives the main tank 1 stack and the off tank 0 stacks. Kill the second snake during the second dive bombs gives the main tank 2 and the off tank 1. When the second set spawns the main tank and off tank each grab one giving the main tank one small snake and the off tank the large snake and one small snake. Off tank stays at max range from the main tanks snake which dies first giving the main tank 3 stacks and the off tank will still have 1. Main tank and melee runs away as the final snake hits 10% life. The off tanks stacks will have fallen off by now giving the main tank 3 stacks and the off tank 1 stack. Main tanks stacks will fall off before twin returns giving the main tank 0 stacks and the off tank 1 stack by the time 2hr hits.

Kill the snakes faster or try to avoid the stacks by running when their hp drops to 0. Only one tank should ever have stacks, so I handle adds on PLD in case they die too slow so I can just use Hallowed Ground.

Pretty much. We typically have LB2? and we AoE LB the all the snakes at that point after I bring them in and Hallowed. I end up with 4 stacks every time, the OT typically none or 1. We usually have the Main snake dead with 5-8 seconds to spare before 2hr pops, and our stacks already dropped by that time by a couple of seconds or still on, at which point I still don't take any damage anyways.

Key to the stack thing if you're worried about it, is your DPS on the main snake with 4 stacks.

Leveling up pld next and was wondering what people's thoughts are on the Ex weapon/shield vs. myth/zenith weapon/shield.

My other 50s already have zenith weapons, and the EX don't seem to be better than them. So I am thinking for my next tokens to get the pld ones to save. But I don't want to bother if I am extremely gimping myself by doing so. Saving 900 myth would be nice.

Break Blade is better DPS but I, at least, need the accuracy from Curtana in Coil. I use Break Blade for EX primals, Crystal Tower, and other stuff like that just to justify being forced to buy it with Onion Shield.

As base block rate increases, Allagan/Zenith shield becomes more favourable, but Onion is close enough to be usable. If you don't want to spend the 300 mythology on Zenith, you could get away with using Onion until Allagan drops for you.

err...original MT got his when i came in because I had +1 relic shield and he didn't, bigger gains for the group. Couple of weeks later I got mine...that was months ago...now they fall to our 8th man that's normally a pick up to fill a slot since our static is only 7 people now.

1% better dps to exchange the shiny/pretty sword for a shitsicle....no thanks....and im usually a proponent for max dps pld's lol...but damn that thing looks BAD

Haha what the shit at Shield not dropping? Fucking see that thing all the time; I have passed on like 4 free lot ones and finally took the one that dropped again last week.

Never seen shield not feet from T1. My lvl25 BLM has seen more coil drops then my PLD (main job). Really looking forward to 2.2 to finish my tank drops.

If I make a coil mule, progress him to Cad, then DC him before we engage does his progress stay saved at Cad? Could be useful for t1 spam.

Apparently you can dc right before the mob dies, and you'll be saved in that turn -- not popped to the next, so should work.

Why not just exit the dungeon?

I could see the argument for DCing before the mob dies, but if you're DCing before you engage, I don't see the difference between that and just exiting. You know you can use the Duty Finder window and select 'Leave' right? You don't have to walk back to the entrance, if that's all you're trying to save yourself from doing.

i've literally never seen shield drop and have been doing coil since like a month after release
