Is this a red drop (shares top slot with gear/scroll/etc) or a cobalt drob?
Seems pretty stupid to make a thread just for this, but the random question thread is gone...

The answer is that it doesn't matter because you'll probably never see it anyway:

Good luck going 1/200
Well I've been joining these runs mainly to fix my WS merits lol, but it would be nice to know which type of drop it is so I'm not wasting inventory space/cruor on the wrong cells.
The term "wasting cruor" is lost on me
Should I be sitting on a giant pile of cruor for some reason? I used most of mine back in the day on blinkers, and I haven't done much vw/aby since.
He's probably more implying that you get cruor back via the fights, and there's nothing else to spend it on now save brewing things for lols. If you're really hard up for cruor use IS/CP/AN or buy off the AH. Blue ups the drops you'll get total and therefore your chances of getting the item and red ups the chances you won't just get logs and ores. That said, neither cells will really help since it's freaking VW.
Sorry but if you're using the exp cells why do you give a crap about drops? Just use Red I guess, or Blue. Doesn't matter either way.
If you care about xp that much just join an aby pt and get tons of xp and cruor! Bam problem double solved
Blue ups the amount of loot you get and red increases your chances of getting something rare. Its never been determined if blue does nothing or not since rare item gets forced to top. Some people insist it does nothing for that very reason.
Ifu used your cruoron blinkers, then just use that gil on cells?
I asked a simple binary question in the OP; does ormolu ingot share the top drop slot with gear/scrolls/etc. If you don't know the answer, please stop posting in this thread. Thanks.
It's a crafting item that drops from more than one mob in Voidwatch, and therefore isn't exclusive; as such, it's probable, although not guaranteed, that it may drop in any slot. If you want an undeniably correct answer to your "simple binary question," you are welcome to provide all of the necessary data that can be disseminated by people to determine whatever the definitive proof is, but that doesn't already exist, so your answer doesn't either. Until we know better, there's nothing wrong with people giving you general advice, especially when it is related to the subject (how to wisely use cells when pursuing a rare drop), and when it's valid (suggesting that you shouldn't be prioritizing EXP cells if you actually care about drop probability).
I'm sorry if your feelings are hurt over people suggesting better ways of getting EXP while still giving you perfectly valid information about drops in Voidwatch, but their answers are still related to your original question.
Has anyone gotten an ormolu ingot not in the 1st slot? POIDH of course.
Mind you, I do not think 15m is worth the time/effort it would take to organize 200 Vanasarvik kills.
I honestly had a difficult time finding any screenshots of ingot lot pools, not to mention anything demonstrating slot positioning. My presumption is mostly based on the aforementioned facts: namely, that it's a crafting item (which generally come from other slots), and secondly, that it's not exclusive to mobs, which is relevant since the most valuable item in the first slot is generally considered to be the mobs' exclusive drop, or something otherwise very rare/valuable. Are there cases of other crafting items being in the first slot?
Scarletite Ingots from Provenance drop in the first slot, as do heavy metals/riftdross/riftcinders.
I didn't ask how red/blue lights work (I'm pretty confident how they work myself, and I didn't make this thread to debate it), I asked if the ingot shares the red (top) drop slot with gear/etc. That knowledge is not limited to developers.
That was my initial thought, but I've only heard reports of it dropping in the first slot, and never of double drops. If someone had the ingot drop at the same time as a gear/scroll it would answer the question.
Except that those exp methods are significantly worse? I get 29-30 merits in two rounds of kills (about 25m time) doing this VW with exp cells. I'm not going to get that rate of exp in abyssea with having to build lights every time I enter, nor do I get a free shot at a ~10m ingot. And crour is a net gain unless you're using three types of cells. Which is one of the two reasons (the other being inventory space) it would be nice to know what drop slot the ingot is.
I'm honestly impressed that your Voidwatch runs are that fast. Almost everything I've seen nowadays tends to be filled with failures and delays, including waiting for the entire group to be amassed, and then actually getting there and initializing everything. If they are that expedient, and you truly aren't spending hours doing this, I don't disagree with your choice for EXP accumulation. Presuming that the entire event does take forever, though, I'd still take Abyssea ops.
Your best bet at this point is to try to find actual screenshots of lot pools (rather than textual vouches), which I couldn't, and then make your own judgment. I doubt that anything more definitive exists.
