Also something about gear score for dungeons.
Gear score is for 2.1
Since I guess it was too much trouble for anyone to link the post.
Greetings,
The development team is aware that there are times when you cannot participate in content so easily and without worry, and I’d like to let you know future countermeasures we have planned to address this.
1. Significantly reduce repair fees and the cost of dark matter
While the focus will be placed on high-levels, we will be significantly lowering the overall fees for repair and the cost of dark matter.
2. Addition of item level requirements for high-level dungeon participation
We'll be adding a requirement to participate in high-level dungeons and hard mode primal battles that will make it so you need to have equipment above a certain item level equipped to participate. To coincide with this, we will be implementing a system that will display the average item level for your gear in the character window.
3. Addition of a party recruitment window
We'll be implementing a bulletin board type of system where you can recruit party members that are only on your world. When recruiting, you can indicate the dungeon you would like to do, the roles you are looking to recruit, the levels, etc. (We'll be announcing the details soon.)
We will be addressing #1 after the maintenance tomorrow, and #2 and #3 will be implemented after patch 2.1.
Some things i had been reading is that they might of been looking at adjusting some dungeons to prevent speed runs in AK for example by being able to train mobs was this addressed at all or not during this maint? Also were stones reset?
I don;t know why EU people† have been having troble understaning this but the maintenance is today. It has not happened yet. It begins approx 14hr from now
†two people who happen to be eu too
Well damn. I blame Ratatapa, he gave today's date in his topic title and I didn't notice it was different in the announcement, lol

They actually fixed that in Beta but I haven't read anything regarding the current method of running and having the tank die to skip the trash.
Edit: The only way to fix this is to add rewards for killing trash, anything else would simply be stupid. It's not just about clearing the dungeon quickly but if you dash through you're also saving gil on repairs and getting out of the instance quickly so someone else can enter. I've seen people refuse to speedrun because "it's cheating" when in reality it's simply common sense to do so.
This maint is meant to fix the repair and congestion issue but they really need to give players a reason to kill trash when they're at cap.
Typical.... I knew the maint was tonight / today damn LS members getting it completely wrong insisting it would have been last night!
I usually sneak my laptop to work and play gathering /crafting so I can be inefficient at the job, but somehow I also thought maintenance is today and didnt take my laptop with me. Now I just lost 8 hours of my life without playing FFXIV OMG D:
Instead of "preventing" speed runs, they should just encourage people to kill stuff. They could maybe take half of the tomestones away from the boss and make individual monsters give 1-2 each or something.
Regardless of how they address this, I don't think anyone can reasonably expect speed runs to be a thing for very long, though. It's obvious that it's not the way they want us to do dungeons.
Yay at reducing repair costs, though. That shit was a ridiculous gil sink and had to be pulling gil out of the economy faster than it was being created.
