Borderless Windows Mode and teeny-tiny font

So I finally figured out how to get FF14 playing on my HDTV while still using my desktop. Yeah I'm not too good with computers, so this is an achievement.

However, making it borderless windows mode (as opposed to fullscreen, which is what I have been using) resizes everything. That takes some getting used to but it's actually an improvement in some areas, so no problem there.

The problem is that now the font is reaaaaaaalllllly small. So small I am straining my eyes to read it. I can resize all the HUD elements no problem, but the fonts still stay small! This is real problem is cutscenes and the like.

Any advice? Is there some way to get Fullscreen to work independently of the monitor it's on? When I switch to Fullscreen I just get it displayed on my monitor and TV, but it's the same image on both. Maybe it's something to do with the settings on Borderless Window mode?

    Kinda confused here...

There's an option to change the font size in the system settings list of options while in game. I forget exactly where, but it's 100% there somewhere

Fullscreen and borderless windowed look identical on my computer. That's very odd that it would look different on yours, unless your fullscreen was using a lower resolution.

Can't change the resolution. Googled it but all I got was a lot of tips for version 1.0 and some people with the same problem as mine - namely, that the presets and custom options are greyed out and can't be clicked on.

Changed to Windowed mode, attempted to manually customize the resolution but I was only able to input single digits (!?!?!?!) into the height and width bars.

So, long story short, unable to change the resolution.

I can change the font size of the chat window fine, but I want to change the font of everything else. Though what I am experiencing is probably a resolution issues, as even the icons and everything are small (don't mind that as much as the font though)

My fullscreen was indeed using a lower resolution, which I want back, but have no idea how to do so.

Under system config you can change your resolution. And you can us the HUD layout to increase the size of each UI element (S,M,L) to make it easier to see it.

Borderless windowed forces you to match your current monitor resolution (unless you manually change it in windows), so he's SOL unless he wants to jump through hoops. The UI element sizing is hopefully enough.

I guess so, full size UI elements might be enough.

You can resize the font in the Chat settings.

I mean lower the resolution you are sending to the TV, not in game. I presume you are sitting further away than you were before.

Yeah that last bit was the right thing to do. Figured it out before reading it though. Turns out I had to go into Nvidia Control Panel and mess around with it there...Windows was no help.

Thanks to everyone for all their help though!
