Per LA times, 2 officers shot, one of them twice in the leg. He was medivaced and will be fine. Two female civilians who were also shot were evac'ed in critical condition but are currently stable. 7 others confirmed dead, including one of the shooters. 2 other shooters are still at large.

DC's reporting a single officer injured in an exchange, with the other guy dead as a result. Navy is reporting six dead, local hospitals a total of four wounded, three critically (guessing #4 is the police officer hit in the exchange of gunfire w/shooter.)

My college buddy and roommate is an ex-naval officer doing defense consulting in the Naval Yard. He was barricaded in an office on the second floor with several clients and some random people who just ran into the nearest office. A few people were on their phones trying to figure the situation out, multiple people outside said the guy (guys?) were on the fourth floor per cops / news, everyone made a group decision to bail, so they snuck out of the office and hightailed it for the nearest exit. Pretty risky, but not sure I would have done differently. Roommate is currently at home getting drunk; do not blame him.

This is pretty much becoming the norm, also security taking your access badges and everything off your person before you leave so you don't try to come back three days later and start some shit. A lot of places have access control, can't get in without a swipe card of some sort unless someone lets you in. There were a lot of people I had to let go at my last job that I would never have let back into the building after I collected their badges. You just don't know how people are going to take this kind of shit nowadays.

Considering one was probably military and there's a chance the civilian was ex-military they probably have their weapons legally registered. Reports on the descriptions of the two unknown men are one had a hand gun and one had a "long gun." No need to shoehorn automatic weapons control into this (yet).

Coast Guard HQ also currently in lockdown, but just as a matter of safety. They put out a description on the two other persons of interest, but no names. One white guy, one black guy, both 40-50 age range in military-style uniforms.
