So what's the best way to get seals? Running FATES on alt classes? Supply missions? I still need a bunch since I did dungeons mostly on my 1st lvl 50.

FATE Grinding is the most efficient. Supply missions are nice in supplement.

Absolute fastest way is GC Hunting logs, but that's very limited.

Running FATES on alt classes?

If you're just looking to maximize seals, running FATEs on your main (50) near Ceruleum and spiritbonding gear in the process is probably the most time-effective way since there's a great abundance of rapidly spawning FATEs there (especially the DD FATE chain), and you'll get the most seals per FATE too. GC leves aren't so great, I prefer to do normal leves and take gil over seals.

lvling alts with fates works well.

40,000 seals from
Lv 35 -> 41/42ish
Lv 41/42ish -> Lv 47/48ish

If you are interested in crafting, look at the crafting gear for all levels. It is generally BIS for the level and can be used on many many classes if you plan on leveling more than 1 craft. Also good for some gathering gear but not as useful.

Aside from that, the exp scrolls, choco barding or any other vanity items.

Last time I looked at some, GC gear has an iLv. that's only +1 from its gear level, but the stats are more like 8~10 levels ahead of the curve. I think it's pretty much all BIS (for DoH/DoL) until the split-second you hit 50. Then it's crap.
