Joined a Shiva X Farm party as WHM. Setup had WAR tank solo and two WHM. Can be done, but...

Two-three wipes in which I am one of the last people alive and not dying to random bullshit. The last wipe the tank and I survived half the last bar of the LB3, hit LB3 and everyone raises, we continue. Two people had apparently died to sliding into the ice because that's where they raised, iced up. Mother fuckers, this fight is fuckign easy. People dying to not knowing how to dodge circles, running around like chickens, head off, etcetc.

I'm not always perfect at the fight, but I can generally recover my fuck ups.

Not much into glamour but I thought you couldn't project something higher ilevel than the item being glamoured.

This is pretty much why I gave up on getting a Diamond Sword. It's people either failing miserably or getting a good group that only lasts ~3 runs before everyone has to leave for reasons.

It's baffling too, Shiva is pretty much the 2nd easiest EX primal in the game IMO.

And the easiest to get what you want and gtfo, so you're left with a fair number of bads being the majority of those still interested in it.

Sad but true, I guess pony farms kind of breathed life back into Shiva, but I'm going to just cross my fingers and hope Encrypted Tomestones will be a drop in WoD in tomrrow's (today's if EST) patch or the 2nd part of Before the Fall.

I'm still wondering what the fuck they were thinking with the crafted Wootz weapons.

ilvl 110 weapons were available to literally everyone before 2.4 even landed, we were disappointed with the Shiva weapons only being 110 when 2.4 actually came out, then they let us upgrade them to 115 after everyone was done farming their HA weapons, and then they go and add ANOTHER 110 weapon with 2.5?

Agreed. I'm not sure how much the materials are now, but they were in no way worth the price last I checked.

They're for gearing up a fresh character without having to deal with the RNG timesink that comes with Shiva Ex or t9. They're pretty nice but costly and some of them look pretty cool (namely the Kirimu Codex).

Axe is the only one that looks half decent if only because it looks somewhat normal (sword looks normal too, but extremely boring).

Also if you think fresh players are going to have the money to spend on these weapons, much less materia to make them useful, you're crazy.

What fresh characters can do is run ST and get an upgraded tomestone weapon of the same ilvl for free in an afternoon.

Personally, I use Wootz spear(made myself with only t3 materia inside) for a variety of reasons:
1) I need immediate damage to farm a better weapon(all while outdamage the majority of Zodiac players I come across :\ ).
2) T9 farms are non-existent, havent seen heavensfall in a month, etc.
3) I'm burned out from Shiva and only saw 1 Spear out of 25 kills (i've heard some horror stories)
4) I expected tomestone in WoD by now.

AKA I'm a filthy casual who won't Pony farm a weapon because I lolburnedout.

Well I can tell which data center you're not on. The only time that happens is when I build a full premade.
