The "lazy and cheap" argument would pack a little more punch if he was doing something that mattered, not low-level DR.
What's next, gear critique on FATEs?

This argument is bad and you should all feel bad. A Lv. 49 ring is going to have a better iLv balancing than a Lv. 24 ring. Who cares how short the use for it may be? They already have an Imperial Operative Bracelet HQ. Once converted, there's a shot at a T4 materia. The, "Cheap and Lazy," point still stands and is exacerbated by the fact they clearly have other Lv. 50 gear.
Is your point that low level dungeons do not matter or that gear does not matter for them? Because that arguably applies to the vast majority of content. And Low-level dungeons probably have more use than most content nowadays (Relic Quest, TT Card, Exp)
And as has been pointed out, he sure as shit isn't changing his gear for whatever else he's queuing for.
Also, if he threw on AH crap it's a profit (on average) if you can spiritbond it.
It's that his gear is 100% acceptable for Cutter's cry. We are arguing about a 1-2 stat difference in Cutter's cry.
If he was in high lvl or Expert, than by all means, rip him apart. But from all we can see, we're making fun of a brand new player who is wearing gear 10 lvls too low for cutter's cry while attempting to gear up. That's insane.
It's like you don't see the other context clues that people have pointed out. He has Noct Body (which isn't a point against him as it's left side at least), he has Imperial Operative wrist. A cursory lodestone search shows that while this is his only 50 battle job he has 50 in 5 crafts, Miner, and pretty close on the rest. He's not some poor hapless noob. He's lazy. It's not about the shitty accessories, it's about the ambivalence of keeping up to date for extremely minimal cost.
Hell this is about the only situation I would encourage him to pad his ilvl so he can do the shit that gives him better gear faster. Instead of low level roulette on a 50.
I suppose an alternate explanation is that he's doing Cutters specifically for GC hunting log.
Someone find this guy and settle this once and for all.
Is he wearing that ring 24/7 or not?
And the point is after he's out of Cutter's Cry he is queuing for something else and wearing the same gear. So unless you think he's grinding all his soldiery via low level dungeons, that argument doesn't hold water.
The only 'acceptable' explanation would be that he wears spiritbond gear normally but entered the dungeon without realizing he converted them without getting a replacement and that was the next best available item he had with him.
Until you have completed 2.0 storyline, there really isn't much else you can grind for soldiery besides low-level DR and hunts. And I'm sure this gear would be no less gimp in a hunt party, right?
Furthermore, once you have completed 2.0 storyline, there really isn't any point in doing low-level DR, as you should proceed directly to CT -> ST (as soon as iLVL permits) and just spam ST until you have enough soldiery/sands/oils to fully i110 yourself.
So really, the only reason for a LV50 to be in a LV40 dungeon is precisely because he is grinding soldiery from a daily low-level DR. There is almost literally no other reason to be there.
He's obviously there via low-level roulette which is a once a day thing. Are you seriously trying to say he doesn't queue for anything else other than low-level DR? Because you know he does and you know as soon as he does, his gear no longer falls under your acceptable criteria.
But all that is irrelevant. He has 50 goldsmith. He can literally craft himself something better in about 30 seconds. This qualifies as lazy and cheap no matter how much you want to try justify it.
Low level roulette gives 100 sold 5 poetics always, GC seals and gil are the only daily bonus.
edit: oh wait that's the adventurer in need bonus, nvm, no idea if it still gives any kind of bonus after the daily bonus since I never do them but it really should
adventure in need bonus is always just gil
otherwise roulette will give the stated soldiery, poetics and extra seals/gil
What else would he be queuing for? Presuming he hasn't finished 2.0 storyline (because then it's ST alldayerryday), there really isn't anything else to queue.
When you're at that point in the game, there really isn't anything to do except low-level DR once a day and hunts the rest of the time.
If he's doing hunts (which are uncapped), then "in 30 seconds" he can craft something that is "better," but still gimped (if you would even bother crafting jewelry for hunts). But all that is irrelevant. He has 50 goldsmith. He can literally craft himself something better in about 30 seconds.
The worst thing I can say about the guy is that he's passing up free spiritbond. Outside of that, I'd care more about the lost inventory space than gearing "properly" for low-level dungeons... which is to say that I don't really care about either. For low-level dungeons, FATEs, or hunts, I just don't care very much what other people are wearing; if they have a good weapon and decent left side, I wouldn't really even blink if they were missing some accessory slots. Gear just doesn't make a real difference in that context.
After daily 100so/5po bonus, you only get the base reward from the dungeon itself.
lv50 basic accessories are cheap as fuck. They're also useful for SB'ing. I would question anyone who doesn't buy gear for every one of their jobs when it's so damn easy to make gil by SB'ing.
Just to go along with the "well he's wearing gear in a sub 50 dungeon so it doesn't matter" trend. This is in WP, and I'm sure he wore it in his other roulettes too.
Spoiler: show
Did 85 dps on the final boss for reference. I did 167 on WHM, only because I was forced to heal the tank because someone couldn't grasp the concept of ignoring adds.
Can't queue storyline roulette until 2.0 storyline is finished.
Can't queue high level roulette until Snowcloak is complete, which is during 2.4 storyline.
Are you talking about queuing individual normal mode (i.e. not Hard) primals? Why would anyone do that?
There simply isn't anything productive to do but low-level DR and hunts until 2.0 storyline is completed, at which point CT -> spam ST is the best option by far.
WP isn't a sub-50 dungeon. Bash that guy all you want.
P.S. High-Level DR requires i80 minimum, so your guy was likely not doing a roulette
I didn't say WP was sub 50. I was referring to the previous person discussing their tank. It's called reference. Regardless of roulette or otherwise, since when are level 18 crafting accessories okay in any dungeon? Why are we making excuses for people being bad in a thread designed for people who are obviously failing?
Shit, he could've put on GC rings if Gil was the excuse. I auto attack for more than 80 dps. There is no excuse that new players can't at least be wearing level appropriate accessories with proper stats for their jobs. It's what, 5k for an hq i49 ring? Please.
