Died in that fight earlier today due to tank not keeping the mob after my opener. Ended the fight 3 points behind the top dps. People don't know how to vidya.
Speaking of this exact phrase...
Joined a Ravana HM in progress on SCH for my trial yesterday. Apparently it was their 4th try. BRD proceeded to LB a single moon gana (ended up getting 0 swords so...), said it was justified because they wiped 3 times (to what?). Offtank kept running around in circles at max range in the post-2hr phase; I told him he doesn't have to be at max range or moving around and the BRD says to "let people play how they want", just before said tank and the other healer fall off the arena of their own free will.
Ended up winning but, dat privilege.
I thought Yoshi was pro parsers as long as you don't talk about it and be a dick?
I dont' look at the parse till after a fight, I watch the other players. When you're spamming chakra between your skills and not doing positionals dk/dots on a boss that doesn't move for a large portion of the fight, you are bad. Your dps is going to be bad.
Queued WoD and forgot I queued it as I went around doing dailies/hunts; I wanted to get my weekly quest done for an Encrypted Stone, I need that ironworks gun!
Anyways, it's a fail fest as usual but one thing that stood out was the 3 Atomos fight after the 2nd boss.
Now, I have no idea what happens if 2 of the 3 parties wipe. I've been doing some minor shotcalling throughout the run so far as a heale. I already figured that the tank in my party, who elected to be main, was one of them bad tanks who doesn't shut up and just do it (he doesn't even like being told to "go") but I didn't think he'd have a problem with:
So 2 of the 3 parties wipe, besides our one. Atomos was at 10/100.
Our one was at 10% or so, and we have a 2 bar LB. I called for a LB to finish it up quickly before something explodes and makes us do it all again.
SMN LBs and blows it up, we clear it.
Tank says "waste of a LB"
I tell him "you know it resets right?"
he then comes up with "it's still a waste at 5%"
I have no idea what goes through his head but I was speechless.
Unfortunately we couldn't kill Cerb.
1 attempt made us go to a 3rd stomach phase, but too many DPS were dead by then due to uncontrolled banes.
The final attempt went perfect until the 2nd stomach phase, where it became apparent only 2 DPS went into the belly, everyone else stayed out. An 8 stack Cerb slowly mauled everyone.
I'm going to make it a mission to queue on Tuesday post-reset and hope it's not too late to get in a semi competent group.
Yeh I'm worried about how no one would want to come though, and/or if it's too hard still (I've not done any of T10, 11, 12. I cleared T13 but as a leech). I just looked up a guide and it seems massively deep!
Is it feasible to go in with the mentality of "kill everything, dodge what you can but ignore mechanics" ? lol. Was thinking of a tank+healer+dps+dps setup!![]()
Still have to kill first 2 nodes within each other, and tether mechanics as well.
Yea you can't really coast your way thru T11, it's a coordinated dance right down to having a partner to do it with.
Ah darn it. I'll have to study a video and drag some willing people in then! Will try to do both WoD and this, as that'll get me an Ironworks Bow later lol
There is no ignoring tethers in T11. They'll destroy you (and whoever you're tethered to) in a couple of seconds if you don't do the dance correctly.
Also, at minimum you're going to need a second tank for the add phase to keep the sphere and the cube far enough apart, otherwise they'll merge and you'll wipe.
But a low DPS number doesn't "explain" anything; it's just a hammer to bludgeon bad players with by telling them that they are bad. It doesn't tell them how to improve.
If you can't tell someone what they are doing wrong (and therefore, how to fix it) then you aren't providing constructive criticism. And you don't need a parser to see what they are doing wrong.
