But unneeded curing instead of DPS does not make things faster. The people in that pic were wrong about his int/mnd split, they were complaining about protect. And she never died.

totally the worst. i remember one stone vigil i did long ago where i was nuking and i realized like 75% of way into dungeon the thm (lol) was spamming heals. and he was giving me shit for nuking saying he'd be able to do his job if i was doing mine.

If we're really talking about big dick DPS from low-level healers, then Cleric Stance/crossclass is not even a real rebuttal. The true OGs queue with CS+Protect, turn on CS and cast Protect, then replace them both with Aero/Stoneskin.

Ohh, shit I didn't think of that. I had a Sastasha over the weekend on AST and I swapped in Prot for the cast, then swapped it out to have Cleric's. I did not even occur to me that I could turn it on, swap the skill out and just leave it on the whole time. Dang. I could've had Aero!

Physick spam from a BLM and SMN saved us from a wipe on T7 once. But yea that's a very specific situation.

But that aside, from personal experience, I find the likelihood that the ACN was just being a pansy and healing early, and/or that the AST reacted to the fact the ACN was healing by just continuing to DPS.

On top of all of that, ACN does fuckawful damage at that level, anyways, AST in cleric does more (Malefic is a 150 potency spam compared to ACN's 80, and Cleric is a straight 10% boost). So you probably cleared faster anyways.

I've also healed dungeon bosses on blm when our healer died. Do what you gotta do sometimes.

ACN wasn't healing early, it was get healed or die, I had 15 HP at one point with 20 mobs on me.

Yeah, I know. It's not new to me either, but I generally don't play healers (I'm only leveling AST to get everything to 60) so it wasn't anywhere near the forefront of my mind.
