I mean, obviously he was dumb. But holy shit were you a dick there lol

Yeah idk, we'll agree to disagree on that. I reacted for sure, and yeah if that'd been a macro it meant someone took the time to make sure healers didn't dps, so yeah I think that's an appropriate reaction to someone who would do that.
You were almost a dick.
Almost.
Especially given Yuuna's response, you come off incredibly douchie there champ.
Can't really blame him, for every ignorant but honestly well-meaning player in XIV there are over a dozen that are maliciously ignorant. It's pretty hard to tell them apart right away and there are far more of the latter type.
ignorant players who create more ignorant players with the best of intentions aren't deserved of sugary corrections, tbh
You weren't in a DF raid. You were in a guildhest, where people who don't know how to play the game go to learn how to play the game. So I think given the circumstances, it is reasonable to assume that a healer stuck in CS may not be aware that there is a healing penalty.
I'm not sure why you would even think that is a macro to begin with.
OK let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't know any better. For someone to not know, and to act so sure, is the only douchey thing going on here. The lack of difficulty of the encounter only makes them more so. Better to stop that habit sooner rather than later.
Dude, they even apologized and you kept going lol. It was a lvl 10 guildhest, they probably thought you actually didn't know any better, and apologized as soon as you made it clear that you did.
"CS affects your damage, not your heals, turn it off"
"I know that, but the adds here aren't a threat and it goes faster if I help kill the armor"
An ounce of decency goes down a lot better than a mountain of sodium.

The person just started playing and appears to be learning via Guildhest. As if the game isn't already dead enough, nobody wants to start playing a game where the old players act like elitist assholes to the new.
I miss the days of giving someone so much shit for wearing Rajas on the right side.
Guy who can't tell how macros work after years of playing the game loses his shit over a new player making a dumb comment in level10 content. Well, at least it's the right thread for this.
I might feel differently if there had been an actual macro, if the other guy hadn't apologized immediately, or even if your response had been a little wittier ("LOL screenshot you're literally the worst", really?) but taking everything into consideration I don't understand why you thought the exchange was worth sharing.
Nope. Absolutely not. New or not, and especially if new if someone's got the attitude they're gonna tell people how to play when they themselves don't know, if that person quit, good riddance to them. If they did the right thing after and asked "hey, I just got lol'd at for saying..." and got things explained to them in more detail and actually learned from that, great.
Wouldn't do a single thing different.
And that's not even getting into the fact that if that had been a new healer in that situation they may have listened and become one of those healers. And we definitely don't need any more of those.
Dude. He apologized and you kept going. Just admit you're a dick. Jesus fuck
