As an i90 Sch and an 83 WHM I can't see an appropriately geared SCH ever needing Ballad in Garuda ex. Even with raises. Especially as you invariably end up waiting for swift cast and so aetherflow is up. You don't need to be 90 but sounds like the Sch mule was under geared for the fight by quite a way.

There are some points that the bard gave me ballad to be gentle, like between divebombs on twin or ifrit dashes

But I never needed to ask for ballad ever (and i heal + DPS)

So I just did a CT which was a complete mess from the begining, we did not pass valefors..

TLDR, during the time the party was building, 2 guys did not stop spaming their macro chaining <se.0x> non stop to the point we had to BL them.

Once inside CT they did it again in PT & in /alliance.. leaving their duty to troll ppl, we started initiating a vote kick for them as they were purely shits... see below for the rest.

I was solo-healing Garuda EX at IL80 SCH without ballad, and I'm really nothing spectacular. Can't imagine how many people you'd have to raise at IL90 to need it

I'm bad at the whole rouse/whisperingdawn thing so I get spammy with succor sometimes and I think I overuse aldo but I dont really consider needing ballad a terrible thing when stuff dies np? amifail?

MP problems on SCH usually stem from problems with other PT members. Too many raises (You can easily NQ cast them midfight), using the "Ignore Chirada" strat with bad DPS (Hint: Pixie not so lucky there), or otherwise will burn your MP quickly. Especially, if you're solo healing that.

The thing is we had two melee who were getting wicked wheeled x2 at same time. That meant death for them even with stoneskin + adloquium on. Raising over and over was necessary, because clones weren't dying, but also meant quick mp depletion.
Then again, MP pool difference was huge yeah So Aetherflow mp gains were also way lower.

Basically, what some people seems to consider is just:
SCH + Garuda EX + No mp = no proper mp management

But there are many factors to add there, like raising people (obviously not considering deaths which are healer's fault) or party iLVL.
Other people made good points, like taxing if raising was worth or not. But, as I said, clones were not dying, so it was either raise and getting ballad in order to have enough dps, or ignore dead dps and wipeing.
If healers are good enough and they do not die, they can just keep raising dps and, unless dps check is too tough at that point to recover, party can still win.

Obviously, on a decent party where spaming raises is not needed, you just do not run out of mp. But when that's not the case, why choose wiping over using ballad?

To sum up, MP management is healer's responsability, but it is directly affected by all party's actions and, to a certain extent, iLVL. If you can help healer by dodging stuff which instantly kills you or by using ballad, please do it. If you don't, then reconsider who is to blame.

Stop trying to defend yourself solo healing Garuda as sch is a joke because you almost require no healing, can just do lustrate on wicked wheel and some succor for aerial blast

Had a last minute weekly clear party last week with 2 melee that died every single WW. Not WWx2, just WW. I left after the 3rd try. Oh, and I was reduced to 10% health every WW combo WITH rampart up because the healers wouldn't heal me nor pre-shield me.
