Its exactly that. This was shortly after 2.1 release and I wanted to farm, there had been a pattern of players trying to sneak into PF's and get carried via farming parties. I had made groups with this method for weeks without issue until this guy got butthurt about it and decided to randomly attack me over a context that was completely lost on him.

Its not about the ilvl. Its about accepting the fact, with new content, you will inevitably be forced carry someone in some way. Having a higher margin for error minimizes timesinks.

ilvl isn't a measure of competence, it's a measure of power, and if you get a bunch of really strong dumb motherfuckers together you'll do better than with a bunch of really weak, dumb motherfuckers.

Personally I say just find people who don't suck, befriend them, then make an awesome party. I think it's stupid, since anyone with a brain can rock these fights at ilvl 70 and not fucking ilvl 88 (still makes me laugh) but I get it.

my first ever "lag" moment in titan ex :c have almost all the weapons but quickly kicked for my one fuck up. Oh and BLM that starts with M fell to a landslide, so "gave up" on previous attempt, ate a bomb/stop and died. Called stupid for that even if someone is dead.
