It did though. The community made FFXI fun. I think FFXIV suffers from the opposite. Dunno if I wanna say FFXI was great though so much as FFXI had several memorable moments that made it worth playing if you had a place in the community.

Doing shit like Dynamis, Salvage and camping HNMs was unbearable as it is. You needed to do that shit with people that that you actually liked and got along with.

In contrast, most content in XIV is over in like 10-15 minutes and can be done via DF/PF.

He could easily be i91 and never have stepped foot in coil before. You had 6? months to farm Mythology to hit i90 and Extremes to fill out the rest of it.

Anybody using an ilvl under 100+ to indicated skill/familiarity with the game is silly :<

I will agree for the HNMs, however I would love a Dynamis/salvage system again where the currency are worth something. It would be totaly possible to implent in XIV while making it shorter and requiring less people. This would be good for the FCs to enjoys stuff together, instead of the 8 mans bs of today.
