BAHAHAHA! So some of you may remember my recent CT escapades with a fella named "Brutus" in the Random Complaint thread. Well, by some miracle, I've run into him for a THIRD time, this time in a Trials Duty Roulette: Garuda (Hard). He's actually wearing class-appropriate gear this time, but boy howdy is he still one piece of shit. This one DEFINITELY belongs in the fail thread.

Garuda (Hard) attempt #1. Brutus main tanks because the other tank has as much HP as I do as an i90 Bard (approx. 4.5k) and Brutus has ~7k w/ Defiance up (approx. 5500 without that; he's wearing 3x DPS accessories, and god only knows what he did with his attributes). Get past rocks and he tanks her in the middle of the arena. He moves in the generally correct direction as soon as tornadoes pop, so all looks okay. Garuda pops sisters and he tanks Garuda in the middle of the fucking safe area, lol. Got mostly everyone slipstreamed and wicked wheeled to death.

After the wipe (verbatim, I kid you not):
[Random #1]: cannot tank her on top of the group or everyone will die.
Brutus: i have to bro
Brutus: that why i put spot there
**He had placed the A waymark in the general area where you're safe to stay out of tornadoes, unfortunately it was in the middle of that area
[Random #2]: Keep em separate
Brutus: you have to kill her sisters
[Random #3]: green line dies first then red
[Random #3]: to prevent regen effect

Garuda (Hard) attempt #2. I sneakily move his A waymark to the correct spot while he's tanking the first stage, but the exact same thing happens.

[Healer #1]: bc you got your healers killed again

**I initiate a vote kick on Brutus. THE MOTION WAS DENIED!! I can only imagine some of the party was part of his group.

**Another DPS drops, and the remainder stand around with no replacements, and after a few minutes they vote abandon.

On the plus side it looks like his gear has substantially improved in the 4 days since you made the CT post. The "stupid" factor sounds like it'll take a bit longer to fix though.

Get an IP CB easy as ARC (I'm farming foestriker skirt) and zone in to LNC + WHM + me. I say fuck it, and set flash + stoneskin and go for it. The two are derpy as hell but they do well and we get through 1/1 all bosses, no deaths, etc. Was actually proud of the derps. I accidentally MT into party chat at the end and felt like SUCH an asshole, since all things aside, they did do well. Face red as fuck I just zoned out right away.

Ok you know what, fail on me for arguing with you so hard on his matter.. Lv50 WAR Lv 15 GLA.. I would forgive every pieces of crap gear up to Titan HM & CT, but to even go as far as he did without even bothering to get provoke is unacceptable and unconsidering (as someone else said back in the complaints thread)..

This being said, I still don't agree with the way you talked to him but I am glad this time you could laugh at him & take it the right way.

I mean, are these people worth taking the risk to get reported for harassment?

I'm all for spiritbonding in Prae, but you can't convert those, so I'm left scratching my head.

I love how all these terrible tanks have Heart of the Party on, like they have to show it off so someone will believe in them. He actually tanked fine, so I guess I can't complain too much, since I wasn't the healer.

I could think of no tactful way to bring up his gear to him, so I just didn't.

I would argue that his AF would've served him better than those pieces. Vendor-trash not-MND gear would be better than Strategos.

I mean, he's obviously new if he doesn't know that, but come on... a relic? His shield was even Zenithed.

I don't really give a shit what they, if they have shit on that isn't str/vit, that are fucking stupid. Wearing Dex/Mnd gear is just dumb, period. ANYTHING STR or VIT is better.

There are no people left on Balmung who know how to kill Titan EX. I spent realistically 14 or more hours this weekend jumping into every PF group trying and let's be kind and say 80% of them couldn't make it past heart. The few groups I did have that could get to final phase (with full echo, because dodging Weight is hard) couldn't handle one rotation of it. The most optimistic group I had was leaving the second jailer (not set, just the second one to fucking spawn) up long enough to mimic Weight. Did I mention this was with full echo?

My fault for waiting so long, but christ almighty.

I've said it before but not adding another purpose for Rowena Tokens was a death sentence to the EX primals.

No reason for people who have the weapons to go back and people who missed the boat are stuck dying to it with welfare i90s. Unfortunately i90 and full echo can't fix stupid.

It's difficult to even explain to some of those groups that when you've failed a hundred times, you can just tell when a group isn't going to be able to cut it. When you've got healers consistently being killed by Weights before heart, or fucking BARDS dying to ANYTHING movement based...

Drives me fucking batty to see a bard be killed. What excuse could they possibly have besides "lag?" It's not like he changes up the order or anything. Aaaarrrrgghhh.

Yesterday I got into a PF group as WAR with 6/8 people from a FC, PF comment with the usual "1 fail = kick, exp only." We started the fight, I do my usual rotations and Inner beast before each Mountain buster (I have 9.2k HP unbuffed/grouped) eat the 2nd MB, third.. and die because in betwin these 3 MB, I ate the tumult, random Titan's fist and all and their PLD did not voke nor none of their 2 healers bothered throwing me a heal.

1st time I ragequited in my whole FFXIV life.. I hope they blacklisted me for doing so, because I never want to play with these people again.

You are right, I am and I generaly condamn that behavior. However someone puting "1 fail = kick" as PF coment has to assume it, the fact you set it there wont make the players avoid things or do their job properly. In addition they did not replace the said healer cause they were from the same FC, wonder what would have happened if I had made the 1st mistake? Thats why I left.

I hate the 1 mess up=kick idea and how it's spread so rapidly, but it's even worse when they start to be hypocritical. I'm not against asking people to leave if they keep messing up consistently, but you'll never catch me with a PF up like that. I generally just throw in a "Have experience" or something to keep it more approachable and not be a douche

I have been in so many parties of that kind where the leader will make like 3-4 mistakes and keep it quiet, then 1 other player made a mistake and it was "Ok guys lets exit & replace him.." its mainly what kept me out of the main boat for this long & now why I am behind and blocked.

However Titan EX has a good part, once you know that kind of fight or say T-5 for example, your reactivity to things is increased for everything you do, well thats what I tell myself when I feel bad after hours & hours of wipe :/

I had the same experience, had something like 60-70 losses (i don't even remember anymore, it was a big number) on titan ex, some before the echo and a bunch after. Almost never tanks' fault in all those losses (since all but like 3 groups never made it to jailers!), and most of them would never actually kick anyone and instead folks would just all drop (maybe they reformed, idk/idc pissed).

I got really fucking lucky to find some FC group that just needed one tank; they were pushing some of their FC through the fights apparently. 25% echo later, we got a damn win. I only joined since it didn't have a douche PF comment, and they were actually pretty friendly about the losses. Phase rushing totally kills these fights; we had 1 dps down with 25% echo and things went smoother. Stayed with them for another titan win and two ifrits to finally complete that fucking quest.

They need to repurpose the tokens, say 6 tokens to buy a levi mirror or something.
