All of these factors made me laugh. Here I was, thinking: Wyverns are getting killed quickly, we're barely getting hurt by triumvirate, nobody's leaving fire/ice pits in the middle, nobody's getting feared, and I finished the fight @ ~270 DPS, good enough for second place. All in all, I thought the roulette was a great success. To be suddenly told that I was the worst tank that he had ever seen? Threw me for a loop.

I wonder what was going through his mind afterwards. Thank god I was able to notice that OT was garbage. It was a good thing I adjusted to only use my BB combo to keep ahead of him in hate. Our healers must have had to heal through the wyvern damage and that extra triumvirate damage that shitty OT was taking. That was the hardest I've ever had to carry a group.

While we're on the note of how faceroll relic fights are, one time I was doing DF Chimera and it did Ram's Voice (on the hill) and instead of the new nerfed "same as Cutters" one, it looked kind of like the old ice sheet on the floor thing, but in a straight line lane across the hill. Like Landslide size in front and behind it.

Maybe it was in ice head charged mode (that's another thing randoms don't bother to learn; don't stand on the flank of the charged head because instant cast breath), didn't pay attention.

That's super weird. I thought it was always the Cutter's Cry version now...? Can't say I've ever let it go through to actually see it since then.

Also, this is the first I've ever heard of some sort of "charged mode" or "instant breath". I thought the breath issues were just that the red warning area not showing properly because of the angled floor. Got all my relics before 2.1, and this is the first I've ever heard that mentioned.

It gets a lightning or ice buff that makes the corresponding head have instant casting left/right (the side of the head) breath, and probably faster on the corresponding Voice.

Oh my gawd. I just looked up an old video of chimera and there they are clear as day. Lightning and ice buffs right on his bar. I never noticed. But then, back when I was actually doing chimera, when it took ages to set up a group and ages to recover from a wipe, 100% of my attention was on his cast bar in order to stun Voices. Maybe I am the worst tank ever.

^ Blew my mind in the last Hydra I got through Trials roulette. I was on Bard and the tanks were deciding which of them was "Main Tank". I didn't say anything, but I was thinking to myself "Who the fuck cares, aren't you both going to stand in front of it?" but no, apparently people solo-tank hydra now because their HP is enough to eat a solo Triumvirate now.

I bet most of the people going through that fight now don't even know that Triumvirate damage is spread between everyone hit. Heck, I bet they don't even know about Triumvirate period. Probably just like "oh look, the tank took a big hit there."

Funny you mention this as it just happened to me. I was expecting both of us tanks to stand in front and split triumvirate damage, but nope, the other tank wanted me to get adds. Was just thinking to myself that I've tanked those adds on BRD, but whatever man not gonna rock the boat over a duty roulette Hydra.

That's what jades me the most: For all intents and purposes, what you are saying is completely valid. I just boggle at seeing fights that used to take minimal care can now just be facerolled.

Back when relics were the thing to do, I recall the tanks splitting Triumvirate damage once among all my relic runs. Even when I did it on my PLD in AK/militia/some DL gear, I just ate those solo.

The concept of having only 1 tank in front of Hydra didn't catch on in my experience until after 2.1 unless the tank was decked out as hell. Maybe Hyperion is behind the curve.

I think the first time I used two tanks was when I did my tank relic in 2.1+ I ran in front to help split Triumverate damage because, and I quiote myself, "I don't feel like doing anything"

I also didn't use two tanks on Chimera or Titan (HM) either.

Yup, that was basically the norm on Excalibur which is why I was like confused at ya'll getting mad at that lol. OT taking Wyvern though is def a DF invented thing for me cause I only ever had to do that once Hydra was added to DF.
