Oh, don't get me wrong, I like turtles as well!
Just did the Buso guildhest on SCH. I didn't notice until we'd already started that nobody was putting out the fires, so I started doing it.
I was the only person who did.
Also they didn't kill a single add until after Buso was down. I ended up kiting several of the void hounds while still trying to put out the fires. Amazingly we didn't wipe.
It's actually considered optimal to not kills adds on Buso, still need to put out the 3 starting fires though.
If you were running around putting out fires, someone was killing adds since new fires only spawn when adds die. That is the point of not killing the adds![]()
New fires definitely do not require adds to die. All the adds were at near full strength.
It might be true that the void hounds dying creates a fire, but it's not the only source.
Not really. I started full timing my Bravura Atma over Allagan and Wave Axe after about the 3rd or 4th book. The 3 extra STR from 3/3 books pushed it well over the top for damage.Atma weapon sure useless to use anyway
Use them only for the book objective then back to wave/allagan until weapon is animus
But yeah, this is exactly why you should do your main stat first.
I see so many people do that. I fight the good fight and tell them NO! NO! KEEP USING YOUR GOD DAMN LEVI/COIL WEAPON, but it blows my mind how little some people realize that 1 or 2 base damage is worth. I kept barking at my coil WHM whenever she'd put on her Atma over her coil weapon; I'm like, it's a TWO DAMAGE difference, I don't give a damn how much extra MND/Det you have on your Atma. She also kept trying to convince me that a Yagrush was better than the H.A. WHM stick. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
There are a few valid reasons to use an Atma over other things (for example, I have to use my BRD Atma periodically to reach certain accuracy requirements; WAR Atma is somewhat valid if you want parry over the DPS stats on Levi), but for the most part, don't.
Valid points one and all, but this discussion is taking place in Random Fail. The people you typically see fulltiming their Atma weapons are 99% likely to NOT HAVE a levi or Coil weapon.
I'd consider that a very false assumption.
Levi and T5 require knowing what the fuck, farming FATEs most certainly does not.
The hardest part of getting an Atma weapon is still Titan HM.
That's why I said they're likely to not have them.
Fair enough. I guess my mistake was thinking that the "Attack Power" stat actually meant something. Fooled by counter-intuitive UI that I'd actually be doing more damage. A lot of people will favor half finished Animus on that alone, based on the assumption that useful information is actually presented via the UI.1 dmg is about 8 of your main stat not 30
But still. Atma should only be used to complete objectives
So my question now is, what the fuck does "attack power" actually mean if it's not a function of your Weapon Damage/DET/Main Stat?
Attack Power is literally STR (or DEX if you're a BRD). Why they need it to be a separate stat is a mystery.
