STR isn't useless though. It's just not on the same level as weapon damage.

Buffs can increase Attack Power without increasing STR/DEX. Since main stats can influence things like parry/blockrate/blockstrength, the split is likely so they can have Berserk exist without it being a flat STR increase.
Admittedly there's so little use of this in-game currently it's borderline unnecessary (does anything besides Berserk buff Attack Power? I don't really speak DPS), but that could change in the future. It's a reasonable framework for my two cents.
Only other way I can think of is Hawk's Eye increasing DEX which indirectly increases Atk for BRD.
Everything else just increases damage by X%, not effecting Atk/M.Atk directly.
iirc Berserk says increases attack by %, but everything else is damage % yes.
Though rouse and spur are attack / damage respectively too I thought...
Rouse says "damage dealt" Spur says "physical and magical attack power".
I doubt the wording is meant to be significant, but I don't think anyone's ever bothered to test if the effective damage increases differ.
I thought there was testing to show that Berserk's 50% ATP is much less than Fight or Flight's 30% damage. No sources on me, obviously.
Is that simply because the buff effect is longer and doesn't come with Pacification, or is it seriously stronger? That's very frustrating if the effect is longer, stronger, and with no debuff.
Different skills for different classes. Paladins don't get Maim, and their average combo potency is weaker even without Maim's bonus.
FoF is the best DPS cooldown in the game on the class with the lowest DPS potential.
BALANCE
I have to laugh. I joined a PVP linkshell who were balancing out parties to encourage newer players to try out PvP and then trading wins. They weren't overt about it but basically if one team got too far ahead you threw the match for the other team. Now, in my head, this is win trading. I didn't especially care because in the end, I'm EU and they're mostly NA and I managed to play twice and go from rank 12 to 13. They were doing a good job of being inclusive and frankly I think SE could do with fixing PvP. The group just wanted a bunch of people ready for Frontlines. I get it. I wasn't especially bothered.
Until... someone transfers over to the server because he thinks there is a good PvP shell there and then discovers they're win trading. He calls people out on it, the ls leader gets super defensive. The LS leader doesn't like the term win-trading and considers that cheating. But what the linkshell is doing, albeit not particularly hardcore and in about the best way you can, is win trading. I agree with the new guy. The LS leader says 'so is the linkshell all cheating?' and I said the group is win trading... and you can drop me if saying that is an issue. I come out of my dungeon to find myself not in the group, shrug and move on. Only to find that he's dissolved the whole LS.
Who gives a shit about win trading. If you want to actually be good at PvP I would win trade up to max rank and slot all my gear so that there is no inherent disadvantage when going into a match.

I never got why anyone would give a flying fuck about any such thing.
PvP is practically non-existent in this game to begin with, it offers no rewards outside of.....more stuff to use in PvP, it has no effect on anything else in the game, no one cares if you're good at it, there's no prestige to be won.
It's a mini-game at best.
On the flipside, if they integrated PvP with PvE somehow, people would flip their shit even more at having to do PvP. This was an issue in TERA since everyone had to PvP if they wanted the best PvE gear (and vice versa) but it did keep PvP filled up. I personally didn't mind it and wouldn't care if they gave non-PvP rewards in XIV's PvP.
The people running around in full i100 sets sure as shit didn't get it by sitting in queues for hours on end. It takes a while for gear even if you win trade the shit out of it. I don't blame people for doing it, and I'd do it myself given the opportunity.
I enjoy PvP and would do more with it if I could. Every time I've queued solo, I've been there a while. Usually get a few games in and then it dies. I don't enormously care either way honestly. I'd prefer to level in constant games but they don't exist. I was a huge PVP fan in SWTOR and aside from some of the realm v realm in GW2 haven't enjoyed anything as much since.
Brayflox HM bomb fail, or so I thought. Log says we took dmg, enough to KO us, but no one took a single point of dmg from it (hp bars never budged).

So doing a random DF T4 to work on bear mount. This has typically worked out, though it seems the player competence level has gone down significantly over the past month since I last did it.
First pull, I get like 1 heal then I die to wave 1. We wipe.
Second pull, on wave 3, WHM stands there in middle spamming heals then dies to spiders instead of feeding. I'm not tanking dread so I can't move it. It is somehow my fault that he died, then they kick me.

Why feed p3 spiders when you can just aoe them all down now?
