Pull dread to the middle? Sounds like a great way to get people cleaved.
Pull dread to the middle? Sounds like a great way to get people cleaved.
why not get on the dreads ass so no one has to do anything at all? i dont understand how anything is easier than that.
That's how i've always done it pre-echo. Tank and healers swap, or even better, healers are already behind the dread, because nothing is happening anyway and the dread eats the spiders like two seconds earlier. Instead of waiting for the spiders to cross the entire arena, you meet them halfway. You end up with the MT in the middle with the dread and the entire party stacked behind it. This way in the next phase the MT is in melee range of a rook and the entire party is ready to go where the other set of rook and 2 bugs are.
Having the healer feed ensured that there was only 1 feed animation in which all the bugs were eaten at the same time, allowing you to DPS sooner.
If the bugs aren't all eaten at once the dread will have to eat them separately, each time having to redo the animation, each time regaining health and delaying your damage.
If you have the tank bring the dread to the center for the dread to eat the bugs it's not going to eat them all at once because they're not all together.
It's not as if the healer feeding was ever even complicated, dangerous, or hard. Tank grabs dread where it drops, face it to wall so no one gets cleaved, WHM takes 5 fkin steps to be behind the dread, all bugs get eaten at once the moment they're in range.
Looks like at least 4 different ways to handle that one dread (non-tank feed-pull, maintank pull, pre-positioning feed, and the wtf-offtank pull). If you're gonna pug/DF it, you can't make assumptions unless you like having a bad time, and this thread proves some folks do. I always asked when pugging it, just made sense not to be an ass about it.
That bought account shit pisses me off to no end for some reason. Shit gets tossed around too easily. Yes, I bought my FFXIV account so I can sit with my thumb up my ass after coil every week.
All First coil DF has gone to shit. Occasionally you'll land a decent PT but most are like the T4 described. Did T1 this last weekend to help a friend gear his DRG and we had a BRD. Our PLD was the only one silencing. come the fuck on
Healing turn 4, I stand next to where the P3 dread drops and as soon as it does, I pop off an aoe heal to get the bugs to hate my ass.
They run to me, all 4 get eaten at once, bada-bing shit's not complicated lol. That party must've been fun.
Did Haukke Manor HM last night through roulette, party seemed mostly fine, up until the second boss. I wasn't entirely sure what happened at the time but by the end the SCH was dead and the PLD and BLM had like 300 HP left. We all move on expecting the SCH to just warp to the start, when he starts saying "THANKS FOR THE RAISE GUYS!" I think we all thought he was making some sort of joke, but when we pull the next group of mobs he dismisses his fairy so we all die. "THATS FOR NOT RAISING ME!" I really should have screenshot this conversation, but we all start berating him and tell him to get over it, then we move on. We're fine for a bit, then he does the same thing again on the last group of mobs before the boss and says "HOW DOES IT FEEL YOU DICKS? THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T FUCK WITH A HEALER!"
Obviously we should have kicked him by now, hell, after the first time, but we were all just amazed that this guy was acting this way over something so inconsequential and we just wanted to finish the last boss, so we got him to agree to stop just so we could finish. So things go OK on the boss, except suddenly we're dropping like flies near the end. The SCH says he really didn't mean to cause a wipe that time, he was just having MP problems. OK.... so, boss again, a little into the fight the BLM points out to him "You should probably be using your MP regain ability, you know you have that right?" Suddenly the near-wipe on the second boss made a lot more sense.
Not sure why everyone else put up with this without kicking him, honestly I only stayed because I was just laughing at all this.
We're not the bads, because DPS in your average PF group is about the same with i90+ gear and echo buff as it was back when the game was 3 weeks old and we had only purchased 1 myth item with the rest darklight. It's tight. Without off tank and 1 healer doing dps, it was impossible for us to kill the dread in time.
Turn 4 was such a well tuned turn. I kind of miss it. I found this old video in my fraps library lol, I was so bad back then even though I had to solo heal phase 1, 3, and 4 OR WE WIPED. I can't believe I bought healer body before zenith, but whatever first mmo besides 11 lol.
The hardest part about coil 1-5 now is convincing people that gear should go to people who have jobs at 50. Was in a group last night where 75% of the drops went to people who didn't have the jobs unlocked at all D: Brayflox speed runs are faster at gearing my last 2 jobs to 90 than coil1-5 is.
It was after the fight finished and they were running to new mobs. PLD could have raised but that healer was a chode. Just fuckin HP and skip weakness, take the shortcut to the boss you just killed. It's not like he had an exp loss like ffxi lol
Turn 4 should be a joke now. I remember doing it a while ago and we were screwing around and then the p3 dread ate all the p4 spiders. We just killed the rooks and then the dread before p5.
T4 is basically a FATE now.
Can we have bards who get foes slapped in the fucking face when they unlock foes? Please?

You actually do get slapped in the face when you unlock foe's.
You'll cast it, and there is a mob right there at the guy that aggros you when you do.
