FLIP TABLE
Subjective. Whatever setup works for you, it's all good.
I know you don't like mines but it works for me.
Spoiler: show
That's pretty similar to mine but I don't hide hotbars cuz I'm a hoarder irl so the clutter makes me feel at home
rarely ever do i need to see my feet anyways!
I see my feet just fine though. #notlalafellproblems.
Got kicked from a SR Brayflox group. For having DL pants while rest was full ilvl 90 and 1 i100 accessory. And doing obviously superior DPS than my fellow DPS member in the group having sustaining 1300-1500+ DPS on trash and doing roughly 10% more than the i92 Bard on bosses.
Run went abit slow so.. apparently it's my fault the run is going slow. People sure are clueless in this game. Just joined another Brayflox SR but people just dumb.
First time I've ever been kicked from a SR, but for everything is a first time.
So...T8. My new group is just at the edge of clearing it (we've done it once now, but not this week...) Tonight, the tank wasn't able to grab hate consistently on the dreadknights, leading to them murdering us repeatedly. We all assumed it was the healer pulling hate, but I decided to check the parse log...I think I found the problem.

Maybe I'm not seeing it, is it the raw Halone after voke>lob?
I don't see it either. Super quick test without shield oath or fight or flight gives these enmity values for 1 use of the skill.
lob 483
flash 666
raw halone 785
The only problem I see is using too many off-gcd and thus losing gcd and I wouldn't use shield swipe on the dread.
Yeah, the raw Halone. Last time I looked at numbers, combo'd is worth something like 2.5x enmity, no? Every pull, every dread. Uncomboed. Several times he queued up the combo then tossed it away with Shield Lob.
Tell me how to keep the combo active while still pulling with shield lob. That sequence should not lose hate - tell the WHM to stop using Medica2 right before dread, or the SCH to not pop whispering dawn or something.
Haven't been in T8 yet, but is it impossible to anticipate the appearance of the Dreadnought and hit it with a charged RoH before it starts moving? If that isn't possible, there isn't much else the OT could do; in such situations, I start off with RoH myself to get a little headstart on hate, then build up the first combo. SW, CoD and FB sometimes just don't suffice, though that's also a matter of equipment.
The only thing I'd question is the Provoke-pull; I can see it being useful if a healer builds up more hate than a Shield Lob would net, but outside of that scenario, they'd be better off waiting for the first person to pull ahead and then use it.
Your entire comment fits in the thread because you don't understand the standard positioning and the fact that it pops more than 15y away.
There is a way to lead with combo halone, but the timing is very precise (taking advantage of animation delay before damage/threat lands) and would likely require different tower sequence to accommodate a 180deg flip for the group.
The only real advice I can give for the other guy is DONT pull Avatar with FoF, because it won't be back up in time for the first dread if spiking hate is an issue.
was watching random XIV stream yesterday and caught someone streaming on PS3 and using ingame keyboard
1) easiest username password ever
2) He didn't use 1 time password
3) At least i was gentle to tell him?
Not too big of a fail. Save FoF for dreads, don't use medica II before a dread pop, problem solved. I ran a curtana zenith paladin through t8 vs. i100 dps and healers and he had no problems with threat with shield lob->fast blade.
Not using provoke to pull and having spirits within ready are things that can help but that's ticky-tacky stuff.
Yeah I do T8 as WAR which has much better options for grabbing quick hate I think (provoke -> some DEF CD -> tomahawk -> some DEF CD -> steel cyclone -> some DEF CD -> start combo) SC is really nice for spike hate.
But yeah you can either raw halone it, which is fine (I don't bother to raw BB it), or do something like voke > lob > flash > SW + CoS > start combo.
Also, stop casting medica or WD right before a dread. That's bad.
Edit: Random Fail for us
This week, out of spite, both of our MNKs took Dragon Kick off of their hotbars so neither one of them could edge out the other. Made me laugh, but their DPS sucked lol, something like 400 even for both of them.
lol, that's hilarious. The couple of times I've went MNK I just play off the other guy and let him Dragon Kick too.
