also because of this patch this advice is even more valid than ever:

just get to 75 souls, and get as far as you possibly can on one playing to get as much gilding and souls as you possibly can before the patch


ex: I just killed a primal at 315 for 18 souls.

And the thing with the 869 89 is that basically, you can't ever really hit a wall that will last more than an hour or so. It just gives you neverending guaranteed reasonable rate progress. Take advantage of it to get a big fat pile of souls for ancients.

good thing is, ancients add loads of possibilities. 200% extra gold and dps while idle/offline, massive gold inheretance, etc.

should all make soul farming a lot faster

Just opened the game for the first time in the past few hours and it gave me 30 free souls and a "thanks for playing!". As I'm new, you can bet your ass I'll take it.

I'm on my first playthrough so I only had 1 soul, and could ascend for another 10 but just haven't done so yet. Was going to see how far I could get before I really need to ascend. On 143 atm, so probably going to push for 160 just for the achievement if possible.

Why not? Considering how many Souls you have, you'd get a lot of benefits from some of the things the ancients can offer.

For just 20 Souls, you can get a permanent +100% DPS and gold gain, added after the DPS from your Hero souls (I believe). So if you're sitting at 75 Souls, for example, that's a 750% increase in DPS. Spending 20 of those on gold gain and DPS increase, that's still a 1100% increase in DPS, or the equivalent of an additional 35 souls.

I don't get what the developer's original intent for ascending was, but I'm now stuck waiting hours on offline gold to progress floors now, and I can't make use of the ancients to recover what I used to have gold/cooldown wise with only 57HS.

I get Frostleaf to 100 and then do something else while I wait on the gold to build to 1000+ Treebeast.

Yes, but you don't have to ascend to get Ancients.

Is there some trick to Importing a save file? Tried moving my save from my work PC to my home; not only didn't it work but it also deleted the save file from my work PC. I wasn't very far in the game but would hate to have that happen again.

It's just simply copy-pasting the string of characters from the text file 'save' into the Import box.

Yes he does, he doesn't have enough souls to buy them. Getting max cooldown costs 120 souls. That'd leave him with 149 souls (assuming he got vaagur first try, few less if not). It's not worth ascending and losing the DR bonus until he can get much more souls.

Lvl2000. Heros lvl5000 (100 gild each). Ancients unlocked and maxed. Everything is "a lot" now. My dps can't kill anything, click takes forever. Game is brutal lol.

0.12b out recently, 45 souls to max Vaagur instead of the old 120ish. I'm tempted since I'm sitting on 56 souls currently at floor 162, and everything is taking FOREVER to kill.

Even though it'll fuck me on the Floor 1-100 climb losing the DPS boost from the souls I got.

Ascend, then keep your souls until your get DR, then buy vaagur.
