I do not doubt that and do think Ted Cruz is an idiot, but Dr. Seuss stories are not really the basis for an intelligent government. Neither is our Congress though, sooooooo....
i dont understand why these retards dont just take the chance that it crumbles under its own weight. Better chance of that happening than them getting it stripped. employer mandate has already been delayed, shop enrollment has been delayed, individual mandate may be delayed, and an industry contact at CMS has expressed doubt that open enrollment will actually begin Oct. 1
these dumb ass white boys should just roll the dice
The rumor that came out of CMS is that the actual federal exchange infrastructure will not be ready on 10/1. of course home boy immediately denied it once we asked about it on a conference call but hey thats about as "ear to the street" as you can get. Have another call with them tomorrow so we are sure to know more then.
shit the third training session that agents have to pass to even sell on the marketplace just went live last week.
I think he means health insurance brokers.
correct
In what way has the employer mandate been delayed? Serious question, why would companies be cutting people under 30 hours without a mandate?
It was delayed until 2015. To answer your question, it's because a large number of employers were already wanting to cut hours to keep more employees from earning benefits, and the employer mandate was a convenient excuse to make them not look like the bad guys for it.
At my job, they started cutting everybody under 30 hours back in March, so they could make sure it works when the mandate is implemented. Sure employee turnover has gone up and we are desperately understaffed, but by golly they are ready to not provide insurance or pay a fine once it goes live.
i like how these people talk about free market and small businesses like they're the greatest things in the universe, then bitch that they'll have to close when this becomes law
bitch if your profit margin is so small you cant afford to keep your employees alive (or employed) then the market has decided you should fail.
Those are navigators. People that sell insurance cannot be navigators. Navigators also cannot work for insurance companies in any form.
Yes agents that currently sell insurance can continue selling insurance however they cannot sell insurance on the federally facilitated marketplace, which is where all the uninsured mofos will go to buy insurance, until they complete the Cms's agent & broker training.
Listening to a story on NPR about a GOP congressional committee trying to delay the ACA rollout by submarining navigators by sending them letters requesting thousands of pages of documents that take most navigator groups weeks to compile. Remember that time they got all mad about the IRS doing the same thing to Tea Party PACs?
also Bob Corker called out Mike Lee about a half hour ago and asked if he was just trying to slow things down so he could get on tv. asked if getting people to "watch the show" was more important than policy outcome.
House GOP also asked Senate GOP leaders to speed up the voting. fgts Lee and Cruz said no.
No one sure what House will do but just got this in an email from colleague "there's a lot of talk about a one-year delay of the ACA individual mandate, "Vittering" (i.e., prohibiting contributions by the fed'l gov't (as an employer) to Hill and Administration employees' health insurance), and possibly repeal of the medical device tax...
House leadership had planned a vote on a debt ceiling bill tomorrow (after Rules Committee consideration of it tonight--it was still not finalized as of this afternoon, but appeared to be heading towards a package that would increase the debt ceiling, delay the ACA individual mandate for one year, authorize the building of the Keystone Pipeline, and provide a timeline for voting on tax reform)...
Late this afternoon, the House pulled the debt ceiling bill (from the floor schedule and from the Rules Cmte agenda), saying they wouldn't address the debt ceiling issues until the gov't funding issues were resolved.
It's pretty crazy up on the Hill--It now looks like the Senate will not vote until tomorrow (Fri) night, or perhaps Saturday..."
