um, that's almost what happened

he was injured after his second season as a starter (he actually didn't play at all in 2003 as a rookie, I was mistaken), in the playoffs of the 2006 season. He actually had two solid seasons after his injury, but watching him you could tell he wasn't the same player. He only had two pre-injury seasons as a starter.

Only good stats Eli will have is 4th quarter stats, everyone knows this and I would never argue otherwise except to troll. He's borderline average outside of that. But at least he's clutch when it's really needed, while Romo in the very same game that could have sent the Cowboys to the playoffs missed a wide open Miles Austin despite his superior numbers every year. Stat Paddford gets good stats too, doesn't mean he's taking the Lions anywhere. Generally why I don't like these stat discussions since people pretend it's in a vacuum. Yea, Aaron Rodgers for example has great numbers throughout the year, but we know what his 3rd down conversion is like. And Brees breaking the record with garbage time TD, etc.

Palmers injury was the playoffs of 2005-2006 season. His 2006 season was post knee injury. The team wasn't as successful after that injury but be really declined after injuring his elbow and forgoing TJ surgery
