Something interesting in AK

Not sure if it could be potentially useful, but it was fun nonetheless. Last night we were clearing trash up to demon wall when I accidentally targeted a Dullahan on the third floor. I immediately noticed that he was in range. I decided to test with some other mobs and found that I could kill them.

First was a soul collector who couldn't reach me and therefore died without doing any damage. I then found a succubus in range, and she was only able to hit me with single target spells, meaning no void fira. She also went down easily. This got me thinking that if you could get the rest, the third floor is no longer a huge issue.

Not sure if anyone else has played with this, but it could speed up the third floor if executed correctly.

For the record, I was on bard.

You can separate all of the succubus from all of their groups; the other mobs don't link her but she does link with them. Usually ranged classes have to do the pull but Pally can also shield lob and maybe WAR can tomahawk across the balconies.

That isn't fair, they should probably give everyone ranged dps abilities so the game is completely fair.

Nothing, I tried it on a similar elevation change and you just go to the edge of it.

He's not talking about pulling from across the balconies. He's talking about hitting them from below the balconies.

He also mentioned using this to speed up third floor runs, and since you can pull/seperate them from the packs, while on the third floor, and have everyone beating on it, I don't see how pulling them from the second floor really speeds things up.

I suppose that, if you're fresh into the instance, and don't know about the Succubuss behavior, then second floor killing would be a viable option, otherwise, the packs aren't that dangerous, if the Succs are separated first.

A number of mobs like to spaz out when height differences are involved. I know there are a couple FATE bosses in more obscure locations I was literally able to solo without taking damage because their size prohibited them from squeezing into certain terrain differences. An exploit for sure and I'd suggest people not really try to make this a thing for fear of XIV's Salvage Bans.

Even when I try to use Shoulder Tackle on something on flat ground, I end up getting stuck on terrain/obstacles. You'll just bee-line in its direction and stop as soon as something's in the way.

Provoke has a longer range than shield lob/tomahawk. Just have the tank use that to pull with to separate the.succ's without fear of linking.
