Depends on how well you're gear and your setup. We've done 22/24min AK win (idr which; have to ask the PLD) with a SCH BRD BLM PLD setup and the BLM and PLD didn't have relics for that run.

Yes it is doable in under 20 if you run it a certain way.

More dungeons won't help much either; the endgame community will run them all, figure out which is the fastest, and spam that one.

I'd welcome more dungeons with equal rewards to AK. I usually fit in a couple per night and I'd rather mix it up than do AK/CM every day. Wouldn't care if they take a few minutes longer, the variety would save me wanting to gouge my eyes out from the monotony. I'm sure there are plenty of other people in the same boat who would jump at the chance for some variety. Would be win/win for those unable to get off the fastest dungeon treadmill as it would spread the load out.

Monday and Tuesday night this week have been a joke on Tiamat, 30 minute minimum reserving an instance for AK.

wow i think thats a great idea. i didnt read any comments so forgive me if im repeating what's been said, but if you could get small amounts of BOTH tomes from doing low lvl dungeons, i would be leveling up every single job....and once im maxed out, i start another character and level the shit outta them too.

it's just too much of a pain in the ass doing ak. even with friends who can clear it quickly, you're just burning yourself out. Explore those early dungeons again...some of them were so cool.

Won't work unless the rewards are comparable. No one is going to spend 40 mins running DF Haukke Manor with a bunch of potential newbs for 3 Myth. As already stated, just don't run AK on Monday / Tuesday; it's been instant every other day for me for the most part.

There is still an underlying problem (running AK a million times blows), but I don't think the posted solution would work. More dungeons won't help much either; the endgame community will run them all, figure out which is the fastest, and spam that one. The random idea is the best one imo, but only if it also gives 40+ Myth.

I want them to add the gear to dungeons as drops and let us use Myths to buy the gear after we've done so many runs. I don't understand why they set it up this way in the first place.

Just to compound Monday and Tuesday night being utterly rubbish with instance wait times, Wednesday and Thursday have also been bloody awful. There doesn't seem to be a "quiet period" on Tiamat at the moment, at least not when I'm able to play.

Needs to be fix'd up.

There are multiple options out there you just need to look for them. Mythology can be farmed from Garuda kills. She can be taken down in about 4 min with a good group which can be quicker than AK especially if there is a queue for AK.

Yes, many people mention this as if it's some sort of viable alternative.

Then we're into the discussion of how ludicrous it is that you'd have to do Garuda 43 times to cap out your myth. I know it's theoretically only about 4 hours of time, but you can theoretically cap via AK in the same amount of time. Also as of this week there's now an instance wait time for Garuda too, and it's only going to get worse as more people get to that point of the game.

Was hoping the maintenance the other night would have alleviated the pressure but it's really done nothing.

They're bringing in more instance servers mid month no? I would imagine this will improve things.

Really hope so, was that part of a recent Yoshida letter? Had a 90 minute wait for AK last night. Part of this is due to the DF not holding your spot in the queue if someone withdraws from the party when the instance come up. It seems that you just get shunted right back to the start of the queue again.

I did actually do some Garuda last night, and there wasn't a wait for instances, which was nice. Still, the thought of 43 Garuda makes me go

To be fair i'm probably at the stage where I should start farming Titan instead. Just a little apprehensive when I've had recent latency issues in the fight.

Was that waiting in queue on DF to be assigned a party or waiting for an instance? I mean there's been waits the last few days, as there always is, but I never had to wait longer than 15 mins.

Mythology cap resets on Monday. They just do it then because they can, I guess. I tend to do my runs later on in the week, but last night I had to wait because Amdapor had reached its maximum number of instances, so the problem is not exclusive to those days (though it is certainly the worst on those days -- I only had to wait 15 minutes last night).

The amount of points you can get each week is capped and that's when the reset occurs.

Seems like they're doing something kinda related, which is nice.

The number of areas where you can acquire Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy and Mythology will be increased as well as the amount you can acquire.

Hopefully that gives us at least 2-3 more options to mindlessly spam instead of just one.
