Because Nike. Simple as that. They ruin everything, started with college football jerseys, then ruined a few NFL jerseys once they took over from Reebok, though most stayed the same, and now they are ruining Olympic jerseys.

Further case in point: the bastardization of the pro bowl jerseys I just found lol...not that anyone watches the pro bowl anyway.
