    Maine doesn't border the lakes, but the shipping decline is really only a recent downturn. The problem with most of the lakes traffic is that the companies involved were over-leveraged and built too many ships to be sustainable in their businesses, and suffered downturns elsewhere.

    The first night I have to work late in the past two weeks is NHL opening night. Sucks; pulling for the Caps and Oilers tonight so the Preds could potentially be tops in the Central for a day before getting obliterated by CHI.
