I dunno, with the whole Yakapov benched issue and those quotes he gave a night or two ago, I can't help but think he might get dealt for a goalie somewhere if he doesn't commit to the team soon. And to be honest, with that much offensive talent, losing him wouldn't be too much of a loss

He's too selfish of a player, he's even openly admitted it. And that kind of style just doesn't work in the NHL. Look at Ovie's turn around after he stopped trying to do things by himself and started working with his line mates. And Crosby is basically the dictionary definition of a guy who makes all the players around him better. Yakapov hasn't been playing like that at all. Not saying he can't, but it just looks like he's not willing to at the moment.

I can see him maybe going to the Sabres for Miller in some sort of deal (considering it's blatantly obvious Miller wants out and Buffalo needs a rebuild, so a skilled, young winger would be something they'd be interested in), or if Halak keeps playing well (tonight not included), him joining Magnus in St Louis for Brian Elliot.

Other than a goalie - which is the obvious need, I'd offer Yakupov to Washington for Alzner.
He gets to go to a pro-Russian team with Ovechkin, and Kuznetzov next year.

It would never happen in a million years, but you know someone like Oates would just let him fly. Who cares about defense, Mike Green can handl... er. um.
But on paper I'd totally do it, but that's from an Edmonton standpoint.

the problem for EDM is yes they see him as expendable after all these antics but as a result of these antics all the other teams see him as a bust/project renovation/locker room problem waiting to happen so they don't want to trade for him. His trade stock is PLUMMETING

That's exactly what I thought when I was watching him with the puck. Yakupov was ignoring blatantly open teammates while circling the ice looking for a shooting lane. I was thoroughly unimpressed with how he played.

Watched the recaps from yesterday after wondering what the fuck happened with LA and Tampa. Despite the goals waived for Kings it still seemed like a pretty great fucking game for the Lightning. Actually excited to see more of them this season and how they do.

Checked out the cats too and just ugh goalie shit forever. Really awesome fucking goal from Huberdeau, though, which I think was hilariously totally enabled by Stalberg farting around on his rocketboots. Neat to see them being competitive at least after how awful the recent losses were.
