FFXIV & Random Alt Tab

Hey,

Wanted to throw a post up and see if anyone else has had this issue since Phase4. I originally thought it was my AMD GFX but iv recently changed to NVIDIA and it is still happening. I then thought it might be some of the monitoring programs i use but none of those. Then i get talking to a few people in my FC and its apparently alot more common than i originally thought.Has anyone else had this issue at all? I cant find a fix and havnt come across much info on it.

Currently run the game in Fullscreen 2560 x 1440 with maximum settings. GTX 770 OC edition running at stock. Using a Korean QNIX 27" Monitor OC to 120Mhz. My CPU is a 17-2600K which is overclocked to a stable 4.5Ghz not getting above 67c~

Im a main WHM and this is killing me especially now that i am running the coil more often. Iv been lucky that nobody has died or a wipe but that has just been down to pure luck. its not happening on any other game.

Is it possible you have a background process running that is stealing focus from XIV? That would be my first guess.
On other games i've noticed sometimes if a Windows "Balloon" notification pops up, it's hidden behind the game, but if you click on a specific area of the screen, it'll pull you back to Windows. Could be happening here?

Just to point this isnt a constant crash of FFXIV either. Its just a completely random Alt Tab of the game at any point. I can normally just press back into the game but sometimes it does crash.

As I do have a second monitor setup in my display settings (32" TV) I was told it might be me moving the mouse off my 27" monitor screen on accidently clicking into the TV which would be causing it but i disable the TV and it still happens.

I do think it is something like this but iv closed out any monitoring applications to stop this and it still happens. Also every time i can think of that it happens there is no popup or notification in windows or any other application with a notice. Isnt there a gaming program or one designed for gamers where it closes off all applications except the game and other specified apps (Vent, TS3) that stops all background processes for a better experience?

I cant remember the name of it but maybe i should try that and see if it still happens!

Happens to me too no hidden balloon messages and no software pinging to screen. Just 14 minimizing to tray without warning.

Im using an NVIDIA card now... So not sure its soley tied to that. GL with yours though!

Switch to windowed full screen, this will fix your issue. I had the same shit happen to me.

You mean choose Windowed and set the resolution to my max resolution? there is no Windows Fullscreen option.

It's called Borderless Windowed sorry. Dont have to pick a resolution, it's full screen without being a true full screen.

Fixed the problem for me although I did have to drop my graphics settings down from Max PC to Max laptop (it went a bit choppy)
