This will sounds like smart-ass talk after the video (it probably is), but I can't believe no one tried it more instead of doing shit like "having garuda feather in the inventory" or "get as many wind materia as you can"... I guess they probably tried it once and dismissed it? The SCH doesn't seem to do anything different from the other party members and since in other videos some ppl survive to twist by simply running away... no wonder people thought it was RNG.

congraz regardless for enduing this extremely unforgiving mechanics until the end.

It's definitely spinning, and the people who have been dodging by just running away have just unknowingly spun enough to make it work.

I'm surprised others hadn't figured it out too. Or maybe they had, and just didn't want to say anything.

Just caught up to this thread at work but can't see videos/pics, but as we're talking WoW a few times here, is it fair to compare this "twister" to ....

Just by the way you guys are describing it made me think of this fight ahahaha... explaining this to people or getting them to learn it = i kinda rather slice my balls off

My first thought when watching videos of people dying to twisters was that maybe you had to psyche out the serve by moving in an L pattern. But a swirl pattern? That's just crazy. Nice work!

I'm curious, what is your entire raids gear like? Full ilvl90? Your entire raid has 4.5k hp, 1k more than all our healers and mages have, 500 more than archer. Our drg is pretty much decked out in FULL ilvl90 and has about 4.5k hp. Do you also have 30 in VIT for everyone?

My bard personally has 4061hp before party buff or food with nq relic, af90 hands/legs, hq.imp.op.choker w/ +7vit, hq gryphonskin ring w/ +10vit, and the rest darklight. 4.5k hp shouldn't be very hard to hit.

Do they have any crafted gear? I sit at 4395 HP on SCH/WHM with party bonus and no food. Using food I break around 4550~. I have crafted ringx1/wrists/earring.

None of us have crafted accessories, only vanya. I have astral ring but I didn't put VIT in it. I refuse to farm 90 WP/AK/Prae/CM runs just for enough HP to do Turn5.

edit: And I don't mean "tons of runs", the exact number for full accessories is 90 runs.

Guess that's your issue then, lol. I farmed Prae like crazy for all mine, only bought a few of the actual items.

For a lot of items the price of the philo mats alone is more than what the finished item generally sells for. Most people opt to just go with DL gear than go thru the headache of crafting the items, additional cost of the materia, additional additional cost of breaking the materia, etc.

The prices of the finished items are worth enough that no one feels like paying for them when they can just do 3-5 dungeon runs and buy the DL alternative and be done with it, so people wind up undercutting just to get the stuff sold, often losing money in the process.

Yeah, from what I can gather most of the sellers have to be farming the mats via Philo unless they are pissing away Gil for fun.

The worst part really is the short supply of T4 Vit Materia. Like on Ragna at the weekend it was 500k for 2* HQ Accessories but 300k for T4 Vit because it sold out on Friday night. I imagine it's a lot harder to find T4 Vit on non-legacy servers too.

On the 9 synth item accessories you probably spend more gil on melds than the item.

Well then welcome to MMOs where you need to put effort in for minimal gains(having all those extra slots slotted with hp where you have no other way to gain it isn't minimal). I think everyone here from XI remembers the mark up on quite a few items in particular.

The thing is, even if they're farming their own mats they're still pissing away just as much gil if they could have sold the mats themselves for more than they will sell the final product.

You see shouts at rev toll for people buying philo mats at below-market prices, that seems to be the only way to make it worthwhile really.

In the video's "About" section (click read more), I listed everyone's xivarmory profiles. Overall aggregate ilvl was 82.5. No one was spec'd full VIT except the MT.

Sounds about right, it looked tuned for full ilvl80-90 gear. Guess I won't be doing this fight for a while.
