This question really comes about because I've been getting hit with far too many 5K DS when inevitably running out of CDs. I should probably be better at communicating for a Virus or E4E at that point, but if that DS attack boost (if there even is one, it just seems like there is to me during conflag phase) isn't going to occur post snakes, I'm not so worried about it.
Waxen Flash increase the rates of conflagrations DoT, Death Sentence just has a very wide range of damage in my opinion from 3k-6k+ (without buffs).

Yeah, I just figured it might've been an additional effect of waxen flesh. I guess it's just the wide range, but I've yet to eat even a mid 4K without buffs before first necklace breaks so it seemed like a DS attack boost from something.

Not necessarily an attack boost, the main issue is the debuff each DS gives you, which makes it harder to keep you alive for those next 15 seconds.
I suppose switching tanks is still an option in Twisters phase, but it just seems way too hectic. I'm starting to feel like it would be better to just have our WAR MT during Twisters to leave me on PLD to go stun the knights, and if necessary we can switch back just before the last neural link drops.

we do a lot of mixing and matching between players with at least two groups. sometimes i do all the main tanking, other times another pld MT's and i take it post-profusion.

for the times that we switch, i provoke it as soon as it comes down for profusion then i jump into my link. if you do this you have to make sure the other tank doesn't hit any cooldowns as hate will switch. i also tend to hit thrill coming out of my link anyway.

A lot of groups leave the WAR on dread stun duty and just do it that way. Are you afraid you need the 10s PLD stun?

i was always under the impression each neurolink dropped boosted her atk or speed or some shit, but i never paid enough attention

it certainly seems more annoying to heal comparing like conflag and twister phase

(it should also be noted, twintania phase 1 & 2 is a completely separate mob from twintania phase 3 & 4 according to eorzea db)

edit: i swore to god it used to be like that, but i guess not anymore, swore there were 3 aiatar too, but now there's only 2

I'm under this impression as well, since when the battle starts, she has a debuff on her which lowers some stuff. I figured the debuff was reduced with every neurolink dropped, and ultimately removed when the last one is down, but I've never beaten her, so it's all a guess to me.

Neurolink debuff definitely wears when transitioning to phase 5, but I've never taken the time to really read the debuff it gives her. Something about slower cast times/auto attacks or recasts or some shit.

It's the same description as the Slow debuff, but with a different symbol.

How many Dreadknights are groups normally getting in P4? We're seeing 4-5 and it just seems like way too many. Most videos I see around around 3. Besides positioning it in the middle so ranged have max Dread range while still being able to hit Twin, what can we do to increase our P4 DPS and not hit enrage?

We got our first win tonight, four Dreadknights and I think four Conflags. You want to get out of the Twister phase ASAP, so as soon as the Dreadknight dies all the DPS should be back on Twintania, everyone should try to keep DoTs on it at all times, and we burn LB1 as soon as it pops. We finished with about 90 seconds until the Neurolinks were going to break.

We're at 3 dreadknights and getting close to potentially skipping the 3rd dreadknight. We don't hold CDs for them anymore. There's not much of an overarching DPS strategy that will magic-bullet two dreadknights away; it's up to each individual to manage their output properly. Make sure people aren't clipping their autoattacks; if you use melee, try to figure out a way to position them that won't cause twister overlap but will allow as much uptime as possible.

Gratz, that first win definitely is the hardest. Everything after that is generally smooth sailing and working on the kinks toward perfecting your strat.

Got my first kill last night with a new group, think we had 5 Dreadknights but that phase wasn't really an issue so we didn't LB then. Just saved and used it at the final phase.

Our group has finally gotten to the point where we can make it past conflags pretty consistently, but we have a lot of trouble with the transition from conflags into divebomb phase. About half of the time we have this weird timing on DPS where we spawn a 5th conflag simultaneously as we push Twin into divebomb phase, which really screws things up. Even when we don't, I think people are still so flustered from finally making it this far that they don't quite pay attention and get to where they need to be. Any advice on this? I'm not really sure what to tell people from a tank perspective besides "get there faster, dodge faster."

When that happens, just run to pit right away and let your ranged class breaks it while evading divebombs because usually it will be the long conflag.

Do not try to push it hard on breaking, make it a priority to get into pit or divebomb will just fucks everything up.

Altenatively, you can have your BLM solo breaking it with manawall up outside the pit.

If you do this you risk Twintania divebombing at a bad angle and mpking the whole party. You're better off holding dps, waiting for the conflagration, burn it down then pushing twin. If not then dpsing from the pit is definitely better than dpsing from out in the open.

If the conflag spawns as Twin leaves for Divebomb, it won't be a long one since there will be no fireball to feed it. Safest thing to do is to just hold DPS if you're not gonna break the collar in time.
