Even if they don't give bonuses, it's all bout dat vanity. I want a giant ADS deathstar coffee table or something

This is my setup for now
BLM BLM BRD BRD PLD PLD WHM SCH
Seemed like DPS was a bit slow on left side, because i prefered not having Crossfire on ADS
Would it be better for the setup to go right insted of left? (Heard that right might lower magic defense on ADS)
Left increases Slashing and Magic Resistance
Right increases Piercing and Blunt Resistance
you'd trade more BLM dmg + lol tank dmg for less BRD dmg
if I'm remembering correctly anyways i may be a grown man (debatable) but i still have issues with my left and right
Solution: kill both left and right side so everyone has to be nerfed.
I realize it would be impractically stupid as hell, but could you split 4/4 down left and right and fight bosses simultaneously? I mean, ignoring that stacks are a thing.
Firestorm is a bitch to deal with. I'd rather deal with Ballast since it's front + left / right movement rather than back + left / right movement. Minor details... hate is a lot easier to work with though and the lack of gravity on off-tanks is a minor plus.
Dear everyone;
Please stop using "left" and "right" to indicate which side you're clearing. You are placed into the instance at the North end of the map, and you travel South. Due to this, if you "go left", you are actually clearing the right side of the map. This makes your descriptions completely ambiguous, because it could quite literally mean either side.
I have to ask people to clarify every. single. time. to ask what they mean.
East/West. Use it.
People who use left/right to actually mean west/east are weird. If you use left/right, it should be in relation to your facing (Southward).
The way I figure it with that setup BRDs can rotate Battle Voice Requiem to help the BLM's damage. Alternatively there isn't really a way to improve the BRD's damage beyond bringing a DRG. That and you can pretty much dodge all of the East Path ADS abilities (Gravity move out of puddle, Ballast shouldn't even reach the ranged DDs) and Chain Lightning from West Path is a pain in the ass.
As a tank I would much rather deal with Firestream than Ballast. Maybe it's a case of suck less (by me) but sometimes I would eat a vulnerability stack when I shouldn't if both tanks are avoiding ballast. Whereas Firestream is a lot simpler to dodge.
Generally we leave it with Firestream + Chain Lightning and just have people stack for Rot.
Firestream + Chain lightning and no stacking here. We use a M formation with the middle person (BLM) Taking from one healer and giving to the other.
This. Ballast can be an absolute dick in this fight if both tanks get pinned against a wall and wind up never losing stacks. We've gotten around this by just dumping LB3 off right when ballast phase begins. He winds up being dead slightly before the second ballast, which greatly reduces the chance of a stack reapplication.
speaking of Ballast. It's the one problem I'm having as dragoon in the fight. We win easily enough but I'm finding myself dead from ballast too often (even once is too often), despite having (seemingly) moved into the pacman mouth safe zone.
I'm basically looking for a way to predict the safe zone, since either i have shit reflexes on this one fight, or lag is fucking me.
The best way to deal with it that i've found so far is to get inside ADS when the Ballast cast bar comes up, then run to safe zone. I havent actually tried this yet, but will tonight. Any other tips would be appreciated.
The safe spot is always directly behind where ADS is facing. The move fires almost instantly so when you see a casting bar pop and disappear right away you know Ballast (or Firestream) is coming.
OK, so going to sound stupid here and mock me if you wantbut here goes...
On ADS, I'm getting killed (seemingly) by laser while waaaay outside both the red zone and blue lines. Even my other party members see me as far enough away but I drop to 0 HP instantly. I don't have any lag issues and I don't have any trouble dodging any other moves. (On DRG, by the way). Is there some mechanic or other move I'm missing here? Is there something unique about the way the hit zone works, or the specific timing?
This has me extremely gunshy right now because I simply don't know what's happening.
